DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

No you don't! It's way too big and heavy for this kind of crap!

I'm off to look at a nicely beat up DR 350 tonight.
But first a beer and a nap, I'm beat up too.

So, Judge Allie, is my trestle going to count as a trestle?

Don't look at me, Redman's the judge!

I guess you're right, I want something light and beat up - a 250 sounds just fine.

Old mining equipment it is. When I take a break for a ride today, I'll have to ride to the Crosby area in the Cayuna iron mining range, there's lots of that stuff there.:dancing:

Old mining equipment (this is from an ironworks that operated from 1657 to 1872. To be precise, the local ore was depleted quite early, but it's still a mine... The waterwheel provided power for one of the smithies where carbon was removed from the iron.):

Acceptable? :)

Sounds good to me, nice tag. Maybe some of the people near waterfalls can get it. I have to head for Duluth to find something like that, we have lakes, but no waterfalls close by my area.

I can think of some nice nearby waterfalls, but none that have wooden bridges or that I can get my bike near...

I thought that might be a little exclusive. How about any bridge across a waterfall. Skip the wood.

Like a briiiiiiidge over bubbled water, I will lay me down... Nice tags. Definitely not a 'beginner' tag, but it's another of those 'there has to be one SOMEWHERE' tags :D

Between you and Argon...I'm not sure who is the most "cultured". :p

It's just great to have someone from outside the states playing...:dancing:

I could get this but its at least a 5 hour ride to a legitimate waterfall with a bridge around here.:( Have several man made waterfalls (small hydroelectric dams) with bridges, maybe even a wooden one. Don't think that counts.:-k

Half the fun sometimes on getting the tag is the drive to it. Today, in my mind, was no exception although I could have done without the cagers. I rode out to the west edge of town to go to Helen Hunt Falls, a place dedicated to the famous poet and writer. It is said she went there alot to get inspiration for her work.

Despite the ominous look of a good thunderstorm, I started up Cheyenne Canon.

The fork to the left would have taken me to Seven Falls, one of the Wonders of the World, but I didn't feel like paying for that ride. It has 7 levels of falls with the longest staircase in the world (or almost) and bridge over it.

Driving up the canon, I stopped here because although the car driver was doing the speed limit (20 mph) it was just too slow for me especially through the turns (he kept slowing down to 10 or 15).

Now this road has a couple of 90 degree turns, some 180 degrees, and a few that you feel like you can touch the rocks with your handlebars. But after coming into here,

You get to see this - a bridge over the falls. Sorry for the quality of the picture. I guess I might have to start carrying my real camera instead of my phone.

Tom,

I see wet rocks by the guy standing there, .... and I assume they were wet before the guy got there.

Maybe there was a sign somwhere that calls it a waterfall (like a sign you saw that called it a trestle har har har)

.

The water was running a little slower than I've seen in the past but it's all up to you. Now if you don't mind the bike not being in the picture (can't go past that bar with it) than I'll go back up and take another picture of it. And that white line down the middle is the water flowing down.

Or, here's the same set of falls from last year.

I accept the waterfall, but mostly because your bike looks almost exactly like mine! :D

Wow. I'm glad I didn't try for the waterfall tag; my bike looks exactly like yours except it is completely different. ;);)
