DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Rockauto Discount Codes

Thanks for the code, Dan. Much appreciated!

I had to order rear brake stuff for my van yesterday morning. If you Google around a little, you can always find some random weirdo's code that works, so that's what I did.

The price differences are kind of amazing sometimes; about $180-$190 locally for whatever the heck they have lying around, vs. $98 to my door for decent Raybestos stuff.

FWIW, I've installed a few of RA's "Powerstop" and "Centric" kits, but the results have been pretty mixed. I'm not going to gamble the time and cash again unless I'm selling the car the next day. They're also peddling a lot of "Dynamic Friction" stuff, and Amazon is full of "Detroit Axle" kits with suspiciously vague reviews.

Code: 191407109105748578

Good until Jan 23, 2022

I've purchased new pads, rotors, and suspension components for virtually every vehicle I've owned through Rockauto. I started doing most of my own car maintenance after I got suckered out of $600 at a local shop in 2004 for a simple brake job. I've saved many thousands of dollars since then.

Also, I don't know how rockauto sells their windshield wipers for so cheap. Every spring I buy full sets of quality wipers for 3 vehicles and replace them all whether they need it or not. All for a little more than the price of ONE wiper blade at Walmart.

Got one just now!

I worked an order through to payment method and don't see where to add the discount code.

Ok, I put it into the "how did you hear about us" line and the discount updated.

Yup, that's how to do it! Sorry, I sometimes forget that not everyone uses this as often.

Less than two weeks of codes left... man, I'm gettin' itchy. Anyone?

I had to place an order last night. To my surprise I didn't have a discount code under my account. I've been using them for close to 20 years, a lot. At any rate, I went to Retail Me Not and got a Rock Auto 5% code that worked. Not sure how long it's good for. Retail Me Not seems to be the only discount code site that usually works.

Thanks, Dan!

Just ordered up a batch of the exceedingly rare and exotic elixir my wife's Hyundai uses for transmission fluid.

With all the Hyundai and Kia vehicles running around, one would think SP4 would be easy to find, but it's extremely well hidden and the prices locally are obscene.

Woo and hoo, may I say....

Just scored another code!

Anyone got a fresh code? We're dyin' over here. Spending money on boring stupid car parts just makes my skin crawl.

Edit:
Found this one on another forum, and it worked. Supposedly good through October 6, 2022, but YMMV, etc.

From another forum so haven’t tried it. Good to Feb 5th allegedly.

225839675204398332

From Reddit, just used it on an order. Supposedly good until the end of March.

I just got this one emailed to me. Supposedly good through Apr. 28.

227638126206987099

I've done hundreds of orders with them for more than 20 years, but they seem increasingly stingy with them. Unless I'm steadily making bigger ticket orders.

Yup, I just got a good-through-April-28 code too:
227944428163917697

And also yup, I'll agree they've been a lot more stingy in the last year or two. I've always been able to find a code somewhere, but there have been some long gaps where I've been codeless. It's only 5%, but I just can't bring myself to pay full price, ya know? They say I've been a customer for 17 years, which is a little mind-boggling.
