    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Get the Polaris SH-775 for about $75; I just put one on my bike and am looking forward to checking on it soon.

If you are going to replace, why not upgrade at the same time? :-k

You will probable even save money, too.

Get the Polaris one that cowboy mentioned. I just got one (have not installed it yet).
Click HERE for the best deal that I found: $69.62 for the regulator, $6.95 shipping, for a total of $76.57.

.

it doesn't look like it just plugs in and it probable doesn't come with the male connectors.
does it?

Take a look at this post from my projects thread - http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showpost.php?p=2004536&postcount=360

I bought the connectors from Eastern Beaver when I bought my new fuseblock and then wired it up. It connects the same to the stator using the grey connector while the black connector attaches to the battery. Others have found different connector setups that work just as well; do a search on the forum about the sh-775

Street Fighter, take your time and get the correct R/R. The Polaris Series R/R will save your electrical system. It is true that sourcing the connectors is a PITA, but there are more sources than Eastern Beaver. And I used a different fuse block and saved a ton of money over their fuse block; being comfortable with wiring has its advantages. ;)

is poloris 4012941 the same size as the oem one i have a katana and it sits on the outside I want to put it back in the original spot.

The only thing that has not been said so far is the size of the r/r. Most of the information I have consolidated in the gs stator link is from Tom and Steve.
I don't know which r/r looks closest to the stock Kat r/r and if the op has that as a primary concern I can't help.

I did a side by side size compare of the sh775 and the compufire in the SSPB I nstall guide under the installation thread again in my signature.

This information is wrong.

If you explore the links provided in this thread you will find the correct information
