A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Postings to the For Sale and Wanted sections will be deleted 90 days after the initial posting date if there has been no activity to the thread in the last 7 days. This is done to eliminate dead posts from the forum.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

We hope this contributes to a better experience with us and sincerely thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely, Wearfolk Support Team"

Remember that name - "Wearfolk" - stay clear!

They've increased their offer to 30%, and pointed out that I would be responsible for the cost of returning the jacket to their 'international processing center' (China), which might be as much as I paid for the crap. 30% of crap is still crap.

Wearfolk - remember that name and stay away!

Quite possibly, the seller is a middleman company, and they don't have the ability to process returns. There are china companies on Amazon and ebay the same way. Their only option is to refund and have you keep the item.

They've increased their offer to 100% store credit. They just don't want to let go of my $97. They'd rather send me another '$97 worth' of junk. They assured me that my case is an isolated incidence, in other words all of their merchandise isn't such crap. But I don't believe that.

So again, it seems they don't have any way of accepting returns. You may as well suck it up and take their offer. Hopefully, they have something in the same price range that won't be a piece of junk. What were you expecting, anyway? For $100, you don't get much in terms of leather these days.

And speaking of leather, I received a notice that my son returned the jacket, and traded up into a Horween CHiPs Style Horsehide Perfecto Jacket. A true "biker" jacket. Haven't talked to him yet since the switch, but he sold his bike, so not sure why he would want a jacket like that, but oh well. I suppose it's a fashion statement?

I've already got my lawyers (my brothers) working on it, and I think I'm going to be able to get the $97 back AND keep the jacket. Perfecto!

My only problem is figuring out who to give the jacket to.

Hmm...I wonder if there's a lesson to be learned from this about things that are too good to be true. Or not buying leather jackets that fit into manila envelopes.

How about a picture of your son wearing the Perfecto?

If you are looking for cheap leather consider going on E-bay and use " leather jackets made in Pakistan " for your search .... I've been in the markets in Lahore and they do a decent job at a reasonable price. Plus right now they are under severe flooding and hurting . So if you see something you like and it has a " make an offer " button low ball your offer ....

I just bought a hand knotted " Machine gun " carpet from a Pakistani seller . { a machine gun carpet is from Afghanistan and was made during the Russian occupation as all the villagers saw were war materials } . I offered less than half the asking price and got it for less than I would have paid when I was there ...... But what really astounded me was how fast I got it. It went from Lahore to Dubai to my home in less than 9 days .....

Of course in your case you'll need to find out what your current tariff situation with Pakistan is ..... { I tried to make that last statement as un-political as possible in case that California guy gets ticked off } ...... Oh and go over their feedback if you see something you like . Most of these guys are terrified of a bad review killing their export business ...... If you ask him if the leather is paper thin he is likely going to answer you truthfully to avoid a bad review ......

About 40 years ago I bought a leather jacket made in Pakistan. It was generally classic 1950s rocker style and made of fairly decent leather with a good lining.
That lasted for absolutely years and through a couple of spills , the only real failure was the lining simply wore out and that was only because I was in the habit of summertime riding with the jacket open and flapping. The rear of my helmets eventually abraded the upper shoulder piece to thin and that needs a patch.
I've been meaning to get the thing re-lined or at the least a couple of small patches on it, just for nostalgia's sake.

Very interesting. I'll take a look.

Pakistani Perfecto! How 'bout a picture?

Well, I've been told that I got the $97 back AND I get to keep the jacket. I already know who I'm giving it to.

Hey Rob, if you want to send it to me I'll give you my address, and promise I won't complain about the quality.

Trust me, Phil, you would not want this in your closet. The best you could do with it is a drop cloth under a bike that drips.

I'm wearing my Perfecto today, and would you believe, it's shrunk! I can barely squeeze into it, yet I'm barely 40 lbs. heavier than when I bought it half a century ago.

My first jacket was bought for not a lot of money in '99 (?) for $100 - $150, somewhere in there I think. Hudson Leather, Pakistan. Not the finest leather or fit and finish but a real riding jacket, removable liner, and weighs 9000 lbs. I don't prefer it for riding, it's hot in the summer, and it's the Brando style so cold air can to sneak in on colder days without the right gloves and neck covering - but it looks cool now that it's had the stuffings beat out of it. Most of the zipper pulls are now paperclip and gorilla tape and one of the pocket zippers failed, but it's still chugging. I really need to find decent black leather laces for the sides, the originals are barely holding on :/

So I was listening to the Specials' "Gangster," and wondering who Bernie Rhodes, mentioned in the lyrics, was. Turns out he managed the Clash and the Sex Pistols. From there, I saw pictures of 70's punk rockers and of course, the Schott Perfecto is ubiquitous. A little history on the world's most famous motorcycle jacket:
