I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Well, i haven't got the 400 from my mom yet. She said friday. I'm not gonna be pushy at all. Thats so cool of her to just give me 400 bucks. My dad said that We aren't going to spend any money on my cb650 until we know the transmission and the primary drive gear are still there and are all there. This is just a general question about carburetor rebuilding but, can i re-use old float bowl gaskets if i take the bowls off really carefully without breaking the gasket? I can't buy carb kits right now so i have to use what i already have.

Thanks guys

Yep, unless they are shredded no reason to replace. The only time gas should ever get to that point to even be able to leak is for just a second while the bike is leaned over in a turn. Mine are hard as concrete and 20 plus years old.

I'm in the process of carb dip for the GK, #2 is in the dip as we speak.....or I type.....whatever.

The bowl gaskets are like concrete and although #2 came out clean, #1 broke into a few pieces. I have a roll of pretty thick gasket material that I used for the stator and ignition covers on the 750. I'm going to try and cut out new bowl gaskets. I think they will hold okay.

If not, I gues I could splurge $12.00 to get some new ones from here.:)

As the Dr. stated, you sure can. If they do tear, an old cereal box can be your best They, from what I hear, work great for making new bowl gaskets. As for the carb kits, don't waste your money. cycleorings.com may even have what you need, CB or otherwise.

You can also cut your own gaskets with low cost gasket paper from the auto parts store - get the type rated for gasoline and try to match the origional gasket thickness.

M'kay, I'll be real careful pulling off the bowls. I like the cereal box idea. I think i'll stamp the edge of the bowl in ink and then stamp it on the material i want to use and cut out the shape.. Should work great.

Thanks guys

Nice work Ed :D What's the BIG hole that's missing - is that the choke tube hole?

Carb kits are worthless junk -- don't waste Mom's money on them.

An o-ring kit is $15 from http://cyclorings.com , and you probably don't need float bowl gaskets. A can of carb dip is around $20.

I'd also splurge $10 or so on some new allen head screws for the carb tops and bowls.

Man, this site rocks:) You guys probably just saved me the 30 dollars plus shipping for the carb kits off of ebay. Thank you very much:D
