A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

just got the engine in the hardtailed one, also put the drag bars on. hopefully I'll get the electrical wired tomorrow.

the red one fires, but needs a seat made up.

total price of them so far is about 800

They look good...

They look good...

Lots of work ahead. The red one looks a lot like what I would love to do to my 850, I'm interested to see how it goes.

PS Love the picture of your helper with all the spare parts

Where did you get that seat? I'm currently stuck at that point on my bobber project.

I like the work you've one on the HT. Nice lines and the framework looks clean.

Since everyone likes pix. Here's what she looks like thus far.

So far I've lowered the whole bike, raked the rear shox forward about 5 inches, made my fender and mounting brackets, and can't decide whether or not to make it kick start only or put the battery back on it since its only a 400.

good price and quality. I like your bike, are you gonna hard tail it of keep the springs? do you know of anyone adding a kick start to a 450?

this engine is now in the hardtail, since it doesn't need a rebuild

did the swap in about an hour, had it started 15 minutes after that, thanks starbucks

my main priority is the hard tail bike, so the other one will be a parts bike until I finish, then it will probably get the cafe treatment

did this thing, whatever its called. welded the bracket and turned sleeved it so I could turn one end 90 degrees

in case anyone was wondering, the paint on the frame is just to keep surface rust in check

and the last shot, if anyone needs details on any aspect of the hard tail, feel free to ask

sorry for the hijack- so how do you lower the bike? i'm going to mod my 550.

I'll keep an eye on those but I might make something out of the stock pan. Just gotta figure out what shape I want. Thanks for the compliments and yeah I'm keeping the springs. I wanted a the look of the springs but the bike had to have that flattened look of a raked out low rider. It took some back yard engineering but I'm happy with the result. I think the next bike will be like yours with the long solid frame and a head rake.

I'm amazed at the versatility of the small bikes. There's nothing you can't do with them. :)

btw, anyone in NYC or LI have an old chain laying around? I need to add about ten inches to this one, since the back is now stretched. need some suggestions on a front brake lever and clutch lever, I just want plain black with a split collar so I can take it off without touching the grips and a small resivior on the brake lever

love the hardtail look, but....er....you need to find someone who is a better welder....some of those beads look suspicious....

Look at late model sport bike stuff. Its 7/8" with split perches.
