sprocket information?

I've looked around on the internet and searched this site a good bit, but I can't seem to find any information as to what kind of sprockets I need for my 81 gs250t. I know I need a 15 tooth in the front and a 47 tooth in the back but are there different styles for the inner part that connects to the bike? Or do they all motorcycle final drive sprockets just magically fit each other?
I keep my bike at a friends house and need to get a ride there, so I can't just take it apart and leave it lying around whenever.

Alright that one tells me I need 13 and 47, I'm a little confused now. Guess ill just count mine when I get a chance.
But it still doesn't say wether or not there are different designs for the inner part of the sprocket that you bolt onto the bike. Are all sprockets the same at the inner points that you bolt on? That just doesn't make sense to me that all sprockets are universal.

Why not? Suzuki will have a standard measurement for each bike and if companies want to make and sell products to fit that bike they have to abide by that measurement right?

That makes sense, but what about kawasaki and harley? Do they all just abide by this one universal sprocket inner diameter/shape? I do a google search and find that some inner shapes are hexagon while others are star shapes and some have extra holes for front sprockets. While I can find pictures of these, I can't find specification while in an online store.
Sorry if I'm being difficult, I'm new to this and want to understand what I'm putting on my bike.

honestly, the way I am doing it with mine (i'll be buying mine in the next couple of weeks) is to go to one of the fiche sites like partshark.com. Look up your year and model bike, go to the Transmission section and get the part number for your front sprocket. Also get the one for your chain. Then go to the Rear Wheel and get the part number for your rear sprocket. Either order from there to get the OEM ones or go to Z1Enterprises.com and plug that part number in. Or you can go through your bike on Z1 and look for the right tooth count for either. You'll get the right ones you need without worrying about the rest.

It doesn't look like Partshark has your chain but go from Basscliff's site info for the link count.

Now that I say that it looks like Z1 doesn't carry the sprockets for your bike on their website. Might want to call them or check out some other places like Babbittsonline.com or alpha-sports.com

You know, looking at the chain specs, you might want to go read up on converting from a 520 to a 530 chain since I am not finding that kind of chain anymore. Let me see if I can find something real quick.

Yea, go call Z1 tomorrow and see what they suggest you do since the chain is not coming up. You need to make sure you replace the sprockets and chain at one time in order to ensure an even wear across all.

Thanks, that helps. I already got a chain from a local store and they cut it to length for me. I put it on the bike and quickly realized that a new chain on old sprockets makes funny noises when I accelerate. The rear looks okay but the front teeth are bent forward a little.
