A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Does anyone know where I can order pre-made ss brake line kits for my GS1100? I've read some threads discussing custom made lines and fittings(Earls lines) one can use to build his own lines. A local bike shop said these lines were not a strong as crimped lines.
Are there any sources out there that sell ready to install kits?

Thankyou......

Interesting. Earl's claims to have a higher "pull-out-strength" than crimped lines. Strong enough is strong enough.

Z1 Enterprises has Goodridge crimped lines in 2" length increments (don't forget to order the screw-on fittings). I remember seeing kits specifically built for old Suzukis, but not where. I do remember the higher cost.

A bit of Googling turns up Paragon Performance. Prices actually aren't bad at all.

there are loads if you look on the internet, earls, goodridge, hel for example. dont know where you are in the world but i'm sure you should find one local supplier

The local Earl's store owner told me that too. They'll build lines for you with crimps if you want, but told me the others are stronger (although its a moot point since both are fine).

The crimped lines aren't any better - if they are stronger, which I doubt, it doesn't make any difference.

Paragon has made up half a dozen lines to my specification at no extra charge over the last few years. This last order was a little slow in coming but for price, convenience and quality I think I'll be using them for a long time.

+ 1 on the Paragons. I've had these on my bike for about 4 years and they're great. Mine were bought as a set, pre-made for 850G's. You can also make your own with Earl's parts, but I'm lazy.

I have Galfer on mine, but they don't sell direct. I found the 3 line front set at the Chicago Bike Show for $75. They came with banjo bolts and crush washers.

I put HEL lines on my 850 3-4 years ago Great product, except the MC line was too short
