I was a bit worried Charlie, but he turned his attention to my Enfield after a few minutes. Also was`nt too impressed with the state of my garage so will have to tidy up a bit before he gets back from his stint on the rigs !.

Think he felt more at home on the Bandit, not a GS but at least a Suzuki and rust free unlike the others in my stable !.

Fantastic pictures and video Charlie. The newly weds looked beautiful of course. What a trip.

Just heard from Stator, he is now on an oil rig out in the North Sea. Think he appreciates the flying jacket we gave him before he left even if it won`t fasten at the front, could be all the muffins he ate when staying with Allie. Anyway, here he is at the heliport at Aberdeen.

He insisted in riding up front on the way out to the rig, reckon he was a bit worried about sitting amongst the oil workers in the back.

Finally made it to the rig, weather was ok but forecast not too good.

Love the flight jacket ! .......What a lucky little mascot bear!!! ...He makes us so proud!!

Hoping to get some more pics from him soon. He is staying with John the pilot on a big accommodation rig in the oilfields, basically like a hotel on legs where the workers live. They get flown out by helicopter from there each day to the rigs and back. John and Stator will be there ferrying workers back and forth for two weeks. Lucky bear though as he did`nt have to go through the survival training. Anyone working out there has to pass that, involves getting into a mocked up helicopter fuselage that is dropped into a big tank of freezing cold water, with artificial waves and rain. When it hits the water it rolls over and sinks, so you have to unbuckle your belt and find the exit then swim out. Must be pretty scary.

Just heard from Stator again, he has been kept busy this last week. Here he is helping fly the helicopter.

John was a bit concerned when Stator started messing with the controls !

But finally they got to land on the rig ok.

Stator made himself at home in his room.

Found a comfy chair, so decided to put his feet up and catch some sleep.

After a bit of kip, did some exploring.

Tomo - great adventures for the old bugger. Have you got a person to pass him on to?

I know how to show a bear a good time!

Greetings

Richard, I`ve sent you a pm. Tatu, thanks for posting that map. I was going to ask John to show me on a map where they are but you beat me to it !.

One more picture before he left the rig, he is back with me now, having a rest before we show him a few places around County Durham.

Been busy with work for last week or so, but finally got to take Stator for a ride out. Had to go on the Bandit and don`t think he was too happy having to go in a rucksack, but there is only room for one on the pillion seat and Dawn had already bagged that !. Anyway, took a run out first to Raby Castle. It was built by the Neville family in the 14th century and is now home to Lord Barnard.

A bit more riding, brought us to Walworth Castle which dates from the 12th century and is now a Best Western hotel. Kind of special as its where Dawn and I got married !. Think Stator was getting hot in that rucksack and keen to get out.

He had a few too many beers and started trying to pick a fight, so ended up here for a while.

Stator was not feeling too good, had a hangover and sun stroke (amazing, this is England where rain and grey skies are the norm !). Anyway, he got us to run him to the hospital on the way back, but think it was just an excuse to meet that NHS nurse bear again.

Great stuff! Thanks for the Pics.
If Stator ever dies... I volunteer to be your next mascot... He really gets to travel... Heck, I'd even learn how to drink beer!!!
