A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So I needed to pop out the races on my GS and CB since the bearing races were "notched"

Anyhow, I had to buy a 10' length of the conduit I used, and I have 8 1/2' left of it.

Is anyone in need of a super basic easy to use basically foolproof bearing race tool?

I don't have any pics of mine, but it basically looks like this one.

I'll pretty much sell them for shipping costs and a few bucks for my time to cut them. I gotta see how I can ship them the cheapest and I'll reply back on here.

Believe me when I say the minimal cost well outweighs the %^@$ing headache of trying to monkey with punches and pry bars. Pull it through til the "fingers" pass the bottom lip, heat the race up, couple whacks with a deadblow.

I'm interested. Feel free to PM me with a price. That job is just ahead and I've been delaying it because I don't want fight it.

I'm in. Just say the word and funds will waft your way on the wings of Paypal. Or whatever medium of exchange you specify.

Cool, there's 4 spoken for counting mine. I can get 6 out of a 10' length, so 2 more available.

If I get more than 5 on here, I'll make more, so don't be afraid to ask.

I'm in. It might even be easier than using a clutch pilot bearing tool.

Well this is a crap deal.

Apparently since it's 18" long, my only remotely cheap option is flat rate usps large box. Everything else is stupidly cost prohibitive, unless someone has other recommendations.

Pack one and take it with you - ask your post office about First-Class Mail Package (if you have not already tried that).

I will take one.

I receive posters wrapped in tubes from music promotion companies. Might be cheaper.

I'd like one too!

Can you score and fold a piece of cardboard around it?

Tube with parcel post or priority mail works well. You can buy tubes a lot of places.. Uline has them. :)

what diameter is the pipe?
would be awesome if i can use it to remove the cups on my mountain bike also :)

It's actually designed after the Park Tools bearing race driver. So you'd be able to. Not on Chris King though, they have their own fancy shmancy one.

Ok, so I determined I can ship them reasonably through USPS. $13-$15 for shipping.

How does $20 to your door (Lower 48) sound?

Oh and I'm going to go buy another length of pipe so I'll have 11 total, sounds like I have 7 spoken for at the moment?

I really could have used one of these a couple months ago... what a pain in the neck!(at least I know what to do *next* time)

This is a great deal for those who can't/ don't want to make their own.(I have the tools and just enough pipe, so I'm set)

I suspect you will end up with a lot more interest than expected. All for a good cause... saving fellow enthusiasts from the headache and cursing involved with such a seemingly simple procedure. :p

PM or post your paypal .. I will take one
