A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I count 17 spelling errors in his description alone. I was laughing at him too hard to count punctuation and grammatical errors. However, he's right about the power band system, but doesn't understand how it works. I have this exact system on my Bandit and MAN does it make the bike fly! Many of you actually have this...but you have to pull the gas tank and side covers to see it.

When you get time today go pull the tank and side covers and you'll see it. It's black and grey. You can't miss it. After you pull your tank, if you don't see it, reply in this thread and I'll try to describe it to you better.

I wonder if he would sell the power band system seperate. It sounds bad ass.

I wnat a facroty poewr band sytsem now! Oh, and put one of them x-pipes on there too!

The guys asking him the questions are obviously just having a laugh at his expense and he doesnt get it or flys back with a joke.

As I recall, Powerband was a feature created in the minds of 14 year old school boys in an effort to make their mates bike sound faster or better.

Kid's at school used to say "His bikes got powerband" and i'd go, "Really, whats that" then they couldnt answer.

Then i'd be really uncool by saying stuff like "Gee, I've read the specs for that bike and it sure doesnt say anything about a feature called POWERBAND, are you sure about that?"

The answer would be "I dont know but his bikes got it".........

I call this "The Emperors new clothes mindset", They have to believe something special is on their bike, otherwise it's just like everyone else's.

So now it appears this phenomenon of the Motorcycling world has turned into a "FACTORY BUILT SYSTEM" thats on certain bikes (even 4 strokes), and even when its pointed out that they dont exist, these fools answer with such airey, fairy rubbish as.......

"there is a type of system present and thats a fact.and is unexsplainable to non beleavers"

;-) LOL!!!

See, Emperors new clothes stuff right there!!!!!!!!!!

WHEN ARE THESE FOOLS GONNA LEARN HOW AN ENGINE ACTUALLY WORKS, BOTH TWO STROKE OR FOUR STROKE!!!!!!!!!

Ok I got the tank and side covers off. I can't find that power band thing. Did they even put them on my '78 GS 1000. If not, can I retro fit one on to it. Also is black and grey the only color offered? I'd like dark blue and Gold to match my bike. Thanks to all the knowledgeable peolpe here for all the help

Well, then all I can say is..........You Rock\\:D/ \\:D/
Nice ET times

I may be mistaken, but isn't the "power band" the area on a Graph showing the RPM range producing peak HP. I believe the range in question is between about 6000 and 8500 RPMs. At least that's the RPM range where my GS1000 will try and slide me off the back of the seat.

Thats the range in which your engine has been tuned to produce the big power.
It's not a powerband as such, just an area in your rev range that has noticeably more power than the rest of the range.

It's not being produced by some "Factory Built Powerband System" as this fella seems to think it is.

:-) Sorry, "Factory Built Powerband System", I keep thinking of Rubber Bands under his seat.
For every word he spells wrong he gets an extra wind of the bands LOL.

seems I saw a graph one time that had a grey shaded area showing the RPM and Hp peaks this shaded are was labeled the power band.
Seems it was in a bike magazine but I can't remember

Ef u do'n wanna buye my sooperbike...ten do'n. use oddviously do'n no bout sooperbikeses.
