Along with all this talk of rebuilding/replacing/changing oil, etc. goes the requirement that your shiny new suspension pieces are tuned and set up properly to get the most from them. I have a set up guide from my buddy the suspension tech that gives basic requirements for setting the preload, rebound and compression damping adjustments (if you have them). It was invaluable to my set up of my ZX-9 when I bought it and transformed how the bike handled. It is oriented towards modern sport bikes, but a motorcycle is a motorcycle in it's basic requirements, so it applies to our old bikes as well.
If anybody wants a copy, mail me at:

and I will pass on a copy. Or perhaps bwringer would like to host it on his GS maintenance site?
