A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Saw a Post years ago by Ray. he was showing epoxy work he was doing on a head. I was looking for it and never found it. Can anyone help? Thankyou

Why don't you just contact him? rapidray is his user name. He's easy to find.

He's more active in the Facebook groups than on here these days... :)

I love it when Ray drops his heavy hammer of knowledge and experience on the clueless armchair mechanics ot FB.

Drive-by guys are so annoying sometimes. They post in the open forum then don't come back for weeks at a time sometimes. What's up with that????

I have been on some forums that might return an answer within a week or two. I have seen some actually take over a month to get an answer. By then, if the problem still exists, the OP might not see the answer for a few days, then ask another question. Resolution is "eventual", if ever.

This is one of the fastest-moving forums I have had the pleasure of using.

Sorry Ray I just had Open Heart Surgery. I wanted to piece together a Street GS Engine. I remembered you're Post on epoxy Head Porting. Had a couple Questions. Ill call you later some time. Thank you very much. As for the other comments gentlemen. I have been slightly indesposed but actually already back in the shop slowly moving around. Thanx

Hey Thanx Rob. I just called ray and apologized to him. I Had a Hospitalization Issue. Actually been back like 9 Times so far. Had a couple pretty Horrible experiences they're. Anyhow have to get my new Bike Engine going. Been gathering Parts . I need some big street carbs but not sure what to buy. I have a Lot of Lectrons laying around but maybe Flat slide 40 s or 41 s?? What would you run on a street 1428 or a 1500 cc engine??

I have ridden my brother's 1670 cc Harley Low Rider. But if we're talking about an inline four that big, I think it would be a safe bet that I would run it into the next life. I just can't resist the inline four surge high in the rpms. (See photo)

Actually, that wasn't the bad one. End of 2014, literally just going down the block, so left helmet home. Went too fast, braked too hard for approaching speed bump, Suzi started bucking and threw me over the bars. Never have been able to determine why she bucks, whereas my old Kaw Z1 would have controllably skidded on the rear wheel. Home in a few hours, 11E easily repaired.

18 months ago, I went for a ride on the Sporty, and didn't get home for four months. Both hips, a lot of other injuries. Pretty much all healed, but I'll never likely be able to lift my left toes or ankle ('foot drop'). So heel/toe shifter for the GS (if/when I ride again). The Sportster never made it home, RIP. When I look at the rims, I see that it was a violent event (rear rim is actually shorn right through), though I cannot remember it.

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. I cannot be trusted with power. :(

low comp 1428 runs pretty good with rs 36 and a set of .348"s'

I have a epoxy head that I could take photos of.

Sure any Help is Great Thanks! Be nice to see how the experts do it. I was going to machine the spigots off,, turn some alloy tubes to suit my ?? carb dias, bore the head intake port slightly to suit the spigots and tig weld and epoxy into place? Then port the area . Blend it in. Hows that sound? I wanted larger valves. I run 31/27 s in my other heads but I have a couple only 1 mm oversized. Bigger is always better.

mill them off yes. after that the choices are wide. mine has blocks of aluminum bolted to the head and carb spacing widened. then rubber holders bolted to the block.. (31-26) --so my head can only use lectrons, VM, or TM individual carbs.
