A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

SV and V Strom Owners

Nice pics, but I thought a V-Strom was supposed to be a DS bike, all those with the exception of Brian's, which sorta kinda passes, look like full on road bikes????

I have a 05 SV1k

It's a good bike, love the torque. Handling is good, could be better especailly after the suspension gets a few miles on it.

Works good on the track.

Bought an '01 SV650 naked yesterday. No pictures yet.

So VERY different from my old GR. Technology has apparently moved on since the early '80's. Who knew?

I expect you will like it after you get used to it.:)

Thought I'd get a blue first gen, but then I saw this one. This is an '01 with 9700 miles, Buell footpegs, Progressive springs, R6 throttle, Kawasaki 636 shock. Pretty much as I want to set it up.

SAWEEEEEEET!

I certainly love riding my GS, but there have definitely been some improvements in motorcycles over the last few decades...

Honestly, I didn't know the nekkid SV650 was available in that dark red color. Very cool. And that one seems to have several nice tweaks, like the frame sliders and stainless brake lines. Not sure about the tank bra, but that's a matter of taste.

Congrats!

Thanks, Brian! I'll be interested to see what you think of it when you get a chance to look it over in person. I've seen a lot of the S models in this color, but apparently it was available as naked as well.

It is a VERY different ride and I am still getting used to it. Taking it fairly easy until I feel more confident on it. Have to figure out how to set the rear shock. Seems a bit stiff for my taste, but I haven't figured out how to change the setting yet.

Love the torque--great engine in this bike.

Is the 1000 version, the same motor that's in the TL 1000? If it is, I've been thinking of getting a mid 90's model.

Love that V-twin grunt.
