A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Thank you Gs Resources! GS674 LIVES!

Congrats on the successful first start.A just reward for all your hard work.
It would be great to see/hear a video clip once the pipes are installed.

With the discoveries on teardown and wanting to make that engine as good as my skills will allow i went ahead and got. NOS OEM rear chain guide ,NOS OEM front chain guide (650G), NOS OEM camchain, OEM STD piston rings circlips and wrist pins, OEM valve stem seals, 4 OEM half moon plugs , <<new>> used crankshaft, all new oil seals bottom end + crank , couple of shims, cam chain tensioner new lockscrew, nut, spring, oring, bolts, new oil gallery bolts + washers on the back of the 650 head , 4 new accorn nut gaskets, 8 new steel washers for the head nuts and many many more things. I dont want to be back in there for the next 40 years. :emmersed:

It's quite an incredible feeling when the beast just starts up, like it was already running in some parallel dimension, and just shifted over. Congrats! :)

Haha yes first was the shock factor of it starting on the button and then smilling like a moron all the time :highly_amused: i am all ears about break in procedure is the <<ride it hard from the get go>> still the gospel here???

Your bike project looks beautiful, very nicely detailed
Did you ever get the Marving 4-1 installed?
I love the flat collector 4-into-1 pipes they make.
Delkevic also now make a stainless steel 4-into-1 pipe for the 8V GS550's now, very nice products, I have 3 of them for 750 & 1000's.

Chuck78 Thanks man and yes of course everything is installed the pic on my signature is the finished bike! If you search the forums here i have a thread called As Promised with a video showing the completed bike on the first break in rides.Mine is not with a flat collector but nevertheless its still awesome and great sounding. Thank you for your input back then when i was starting the conversion and you were answering all my non stop questions :p:cool:
