A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The 2,298 Mile Wes Cooley

Very nice, that looks amazing, quite the transformation and I know the right guy ended up with that bike. :o

Check the fairing brackets, are they tweaked? or on wrong, not sure if that is even possible?

I do have a spare set that could be cobbled together if needed.

Hey Rich, where is that nifty gold stator cover emblem you got?

Couldn't help but notice the lack of white lettering on the gauge idiot lights. Chuck sourced some lettering labels that look pretty good. Wouldn't be original though.

Hey Ed, the stator emblem will be on soon. It is odd that the white lettering is worn off, considering the condition. I was wondering if they were wiped off intentionally.

I just scored a 79' gauge set with a nice and bright idiot light lense. Probably worth the effort of swapping out.

Nice! Just checked ebay and there have been a couple recently. One even had the clock knob. I would have bought it for that alone (then resold it after stealing the knob).

Exactly my plan.......we can talk about the knob, as I know you have been on the hunt for quite some time.

I'll trade my first born for the knob. Where is that barter thread again...

I have enjoyed resurrecting what could be the lowest mileage Cooley in existence. There are a couple of things left to do, but not much. I think I am basically calling it done!

Maintenance and cleaning was all it really needed. The bike remains remarkably original. Always willing to listen to interesting trades.:)

Here are some beauty shots from today.

Very nice Rich, that looks awesome.

I assume you know the top nut on the left shock is missing, just in case you are thinking of going for a ride you may want to put that on.

Good eye, Dave! The threads were a bit buggered up and when I wrenched it back on I snapped it off. I plan to have it repaired at a local weld shop, as I don't have the tools to do it properly.

Too bad, I was planning to bring it to Laconia for a day or two. Unfortunately, I will not have the time to repair it.

The bike was picked up today and is headed home to Japan. It would be cool to touch base with the new owner, but that is unlikely. The buyer was represented by an export company out of CA.

I have no idea what the buyer has in store for it. My guess would be resale, as I think the vintage bike market is quite a bit stronger in Japan.

I just hope the new owner doesn't get ahold of Frank's blueprints for the BozoCooley!
