A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The "Scraps Racer" project

Paint?! No way! Polish it up, and MAYBE add a red, black, or blue accent stripe or a stylized cursive Suzuki on the tank. Something simple.

That body is way to pretty to cover with paint.

I?m going to paint only the frame, not the tank or tail.
I?m going to leave the tank & tail as they are now and pinstripe some
race numbers and texts and yes striping colors are black & red.
I try to make it look like old, used race bike, not a new and shiny.

Hey Blower!
Don't leave us hanging. I can't speak for the rest of the folks here, but I sure want to see the progress on your bike.:dancing:

Not much to show. I haven?t been in the garage on the last two weeks.
Anyway i testing my pinstriping skills. Outlining needs more practicing.

Heck, from the pic it looks great! That's going to be one sharp bike when your done. Really makes me want to do a cafe next time. I'm thinking a 2 cylinder 2 stroke would be killer.

Blower,
Just bumping the thread to put it back on the front page. Can't wait to see more!:D

Nice! I did the same and the color faded away pretty soon.
Might I recommend clear coating it before the same happens to yours?
Sure, it will look a little glossier but it won't go away...
and become really dull. :(

It used to look like this:

If the color fades away in some spots, it?s ok. I try to make this bike look like old, used
cafe racer. Thats why for example, I?m not going to paint the engine.

That's funny. Trying for the old, used look. I got that in spades on my 84 Katana because it IS old and used! How about we trade? I could have saved you so much work!

Seriously though, this thing looks absolutely badazz! I LOVE that sexy tank!

One thing I dont like is the electric job.

This bike should be as simple as possible and thats why the oem speedo-, rew counter-,
warnig lights shoe box size thing is disabled.
So I need to butcher about half away from wirng harness...

After two days (invisible work) the ignition, starter and charging systems are connected.
Thanks for relocating electric things to the rear end, I need to lengthen a bunch of
wires.
Now there are "only" lights & blinkers left to connect.
