A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Top End Oiler Project

Jim, it uses the STOCK sensor the way Greg made it! It also uses the stock temp sender! Look at it closer. Ray.
ray yes I got that . I was wondering about a 3rd port for handle bar mounted gauge?

In that case, you could put in a dash 4 "T" where the right side straight fitting comes out of the distribution block for the right side line. Ray.

Greg - I notice you said you need to stop making due to time constraints.

Is the market big enough to go commercial? If so then I can probably help you out but you'd probably need in the region of 50 kits.

Dan :)

Thinking more like this. Tap a 1/8" NTP thread straight down and capture the cross port going to the left side of the motor.

The screw in a 90 degree M/F brass fitting and attach the stainless hose running backward. 48" fits nicely and gets up to the handlebars.

Jim, why would you want to drill & tap anything when you could just change a straight fitting to a "T"?!! Oh yeah, I keep forgetting, you engineers NEVER want to do anything the EASY way!!! :D Ray.

Ray where are you going to put a "T" that doesn't add two inches to the custom length oiler lines?

Anyway, I already have the Tap :o

@ wesmoon
Yes. You need to install GS750 oil pump gears to push higher volume and the little extra capacity that the top end oiling system adds.

@ Posplayr
I think it would be far simpler to take oil pressure off of the oil galley just aft of the cylinder on the right.

@ Salty Monk
I really doubt any other machine shop could make these parts cheaper. My overhead is pretty reasonable. And my time is cheap. Plus I like making things. But, I have a lot of other projects that have been languishing too long that I need to get started on, and finished. So At least for the short term, I've got about another 16 sets that are 99% done, and that will be it for a while at least.

Greg

I could put them with our CNC shop in China.... Most likely would be cheaper than your own time but only if the volume was there.

Actually having tried the oil gallery already, I can say that it is not really the way to go. Running as I showed keeps the line hidden, low heat and is the easiest way to get to the handlebars. ;)

The worst part of using a side port is that the SS lines cross (very unsitely)

So can a hole be drill down from the top to capture the oil port?

Will you sell just the dist. block to retain the press. and temp. units. If it is available alone, please let me know the cost. Thanks in advance
Curt

Two Kits Left

Two Kits Left

I've got two kits left at the moment.
For anyone who wanted an UN-ANODIZED kit, please let me know by Sunday, May 23rd, 2010.
Other wise all the parts I have machined are going to anodize on Monday.
And that is going to be it for a while.
Thanks, Greg B.

Greg, Got my kit this afternoon. Very nice! I'll get pictures once I get it installed. Think it was worth the wait

I just got my distribution block; very nice work ; I almost hate to modify it
:-\\\

Pic later:p

Thanks, madjack57754 & posplayr.
Enjoy.
posplayr, you could probably just put a "T" fitting from the rear and use one take-off to supply the pressure gauge.
Greg B.
