DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Twinpot Brake Upgrade on GS1100E, GS750E, GS750ES, GS1000G, GS1000E, GS850G

I have some more bracket kits on the shelf if anyone is in need. :)

Check the other thread, it's all in there... I also PM'd this information to you last week. :)

Some more units on the shelf. Also I believe I have enough parts for one complete "kit" right now.

:)

I have got a few more of these - any colour you want (in the style of Henry Ford) ;)

Yes - Black

Just completed a twin pot brake and fork upgrade on my 1976 GT750. Salty_monk's adapter kit (painted with POR15 chassis black), EBC CBR900RR 296mm rotors #MD-1014X (centers painted dark gray), ZX600C calipers (painted with POR15 chassis black and rebuilt with Kawasaki parts), EBC semi-sintered pads FA129V, forks from a 1979 GS750E (leg bottoms brushed clean and clear coated), chrome fender from a GS550. Bolts for mounting the adaptor brackets are grade 10.9 zinc plated flange head M10X40mm 1.25 pitch and 2 washers, 2 lock washers, and 2 nuts. Overall the conversion saved a bunch of weight and gave better damping and travel than the stock GT750 setup. This made the front feel better, turn better and STOP similar to my 2011 DL650. Still looks classic with a huge improvement. Thank you Salty_monk for a great adaptor kit.
Note for anyone doing this conversion: the speedo cable needs to be longer, I ordered one for a 1979 GS750E it's 3" longer and should fit the speedo, brake lines need to be custom made.

Very nice. The GT must be slightly different, you can get away with stock length brake lines & Speedo cable on most bikes. :)

Down to the last half dozen sets of these. I will likely get more made if there is demand but the price will probably be a bit higher given the time between orders. :)

I have a few sets left of these. Demand seems less now so I may not do any more once these are gone. Maybe everyone who was going to do it has done it!!

:)

I got some more bracket sets in for anyone who wants them. $87 shipped in the US. :)

Few sets left for anyone looking to upgrade before the summer... :)

More sets coming approx May 20th.

Includes a second caliper option (one bracket works with 2 different calipers).

Easier line up on rotor drilling template.

Slightly lighter weight.

Estimated cost $97 Shipped in the US.

:)

:)[Hi Salty_Monk, I would be interested in the conversion for a 82 GS850G and shipping cost to NZ. I would need the details of the rotor / caliper etc that would be needed for the conversion. The photos that I have seen using the conversion look good but some of the photobucket links don't work]

I should get some more sets in tomorrow or early next week. I made a change so I need to do a test with both Calipers. You’re looking at about $115 approx to NZ.

Dan :)
