A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

This is a bit off topic but would this work on a Gs500e/gs550e 1979 dual front disc version? I?m thinking of getting a bit better frontbrake option for my little GS.

Should do... it works on anything with axle under forks... (I.e. not the L models and I believe some of the T's). It's also a straight fit to the Twin cylinder models & to the single brake 550 using a different disc. :)

OK I wanna buy one kit from you if you got one for sale. And if you can ship to Norway?

The sets just came in this afternoon. They look good but I haven't yet had a chance to mount some up. I hope to do so tomorrow evening. It will take me a bit longer than usual as a I will mount up both caliper types (and take some pics of the new caliper type too).

I can definitely ship to Norway, I haven't before but I don't expect it to be a problem. If it's like other parts of Europe the costs generally works out about $115-$120 all in. :)

Great! Sign me up. Dm me when you are ready.

I got the new brackets in & mounted up with the normal caliper then today I got it mounted up with the new caliper type. It works well with either type.

One point to note on this bracket is it sites the bolt directly over the rotor rivets & as such makes the tolerances tighter. It becomes more important to pay close attention to the length of the bolts used & the clearances. It may be necessary to put a washer under the bolt head even with the stock 40mm bolt depending on the rotor used. The bolt should barely protrude from the caliper bracket.
Blue Loctite / Threadlok recommended.

More riding time spent on the newer style caliper.... All-in I think it's so similar to the older style that there is next to no difference between them. The newer caliper is certainly more readily available both cheaper & newer these days. I've had a couple of sets, no rebuilds necessary just a thorough flush & clean of the outside. :)

Just bumping this up to let everyone know that I do have some brackets currently. Also to let everyone know that I have a decent number of miles on the 2nd caliper option & they are working out great, very similar to the original caliper in power & feel...

Also in other news there is a 3rd caliper option I'm looking at... A bit more work to fit as it needs the caliper bolt holes bringing out to 10mm and tapping (from 8mm) but they also could be good. I will feed back once I get a moment to fit them. :)

Bumping this up there. I got a new order of brackets in to meet some demand but I think this will likely be the last lot as it gets slower & slower. Perhaps all those that were gonna have already done so :)
