Where to buy OEM parts...

I have looked at many online Suzuki OEM stores, for some parts I need. I have narrowed the stores down to MotoGrid or Flatout motorcycles. I would appreciate some feedback on these stores, or any other good OEM part stores.

I use Flat Out when I have plenty of time to wait for the parts and I'm ordering at least $200 - $300 worth of stuff. Their parts prices are the cheapest anywhere, but be warned that their shipping charges are often very high, and they don't inform you of the shipping charges until it's too late. They also require a signature on shipments, which is a remarkably outdated policy and impractical for 90% of the population.

For everything else, I generally use BikeBandit.com -- they ship very fast (they usually get the parts from Suzuki within 3 business days, then send them to you), and their prices are only about 15% higher than Flat Out. Their shipping charges are very reasonable -- a flat $7.95 for most orders -- which helps offset the slightly higher parts prices.

The bad part is that they use their own system of numbering parts to discourage comparison shopping. However, they have online fiches for nearly every brand, which is handy if your wife owns a Honda and a friend with a Kawasaki needs a few odds and ends... BB also sells lots of aftermarket parts and accessories, so you can take care of a lot of stuff on one order with one shipping charge.

I use my local Suzuki dealership. No one is cheaper, especially when you figure in freight. They usually have my stuff in about 5 days or less.

I've had good luck with BikeBandit and Z1 Enterprises so far. Z1 can get OEM parts, but you'll probably have to call/e-mail with a part number since few are listed on their site. I prefer to deal with Z1 since anything I order gets here in two days via UPS or USPS. BikeBandit takes a week (since it's 2400 miles away :roll.

Just stay away from RideNow... Those wankers sent me an empty box and won't even respond to my PayPal dispute.

Really?? That is MESSED UP!! I *ALMOST* ordered my clutch springs from them just to try someone new. Good thing i didnt. BikeBandit may take a while for me, but at least when it gets here, its not an empty box!

How is Babbitts transit time and CS.

My Local Suzuki dealers charge at least 15% more then the three I have listed plus sales tax and it can take over 2 weeks for the parts to arrive. The local stores are more expensive then http://www.alpha-sports.com/

I've found alpha-sports a good site for part numbers but bikebandit.com or ronayers.com are good sites for OEM parts.

For small cost items and common parts, I agree with the member who said Use dealer--just don't ask them to work on your 25 year old bike. For higher dollar items, I have had 95% good results from Babbits online. Yea, they don't stock--who does? but they make every effort to get you your order fast and right. If not, I have had no problem with paid returns and refunds. give the boys in Mich. a try.

I have used Ron Ayers for major buys and they do a good job. For odds and ends, I, too, use my local shop. It's a really crummy place to do business and I have to pay sales tax but, for some odd reason, they have good prices.

well, i dont have too much to add, z1 is great for what they have, and very fast, bandit is ok, my local place is 25%more expensive and slower than waiting for bike bandit, for some reason. i mean, they gotta make money, i understand that. but 15 bucks for a clutch cable that i have to wait 10 days for? really??

Hey all,
Because I am a cheap SOB, I recently did a spreadsheet on 20 different items that I needed to order price ranged from $.60 to $20, and plugged in all the prices from all the dealers listed here. I priced, ronayers, babbitts, bike bandit, flat-out, alpha-sports, carolina cycles, prosourcemotors, Z1, the local dealer, and two or three others I forget. The cheapest of all for all but one item, was ridenow. I know there has been some bad experiences, but I have to say while shipping is by no means fast, I did get everything, within two weeks, in four seperate shipments. Luckily I ordered over $100 so it was free. Some of the other places were within pennies, but don't know all their shipping costs. I know prosourcemotors is free if over $199. I am in no way slamming any other dealers, for I have used many of them, and sometimes shipping speed is needed, I was out of town for two weeks, so it didnt matter. Just thought I would give my recent experience. Jay

I have also used Carolina cycle which is about 3 hrs. away near asheville.
great bunch of guys, polite and very friendly.which is rare these days.
shipping isn't that bad because I'm so close. But if I need something in a hurry I go to my local Suzuki dealer and its here in 2 or 3 days, plus they call you when your parts arrive.

I ordered on July 2nd. I emailed chris on monday wondering whats the ETA. He said that the parts from suzuki should be coming the day after then they will ship.
I'm still waiting for confimation of them shipping.
Unless you have time, they are the cheapest. But man.. they move slowly.
