A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Wife's first ride on the GS

Took the wife for her first ride this morning on the GS. She loved it! She is now addicted. The bike handles great with her on the back. Can hardly tell her 99 lbs are even back there, I had to keep checking to make sure she hadn't fallen off! She used to ride with me 20 years ago on a little Kawasaki 454 LTD that I had, but this was her first ride on the GS. She's now talking about all the places we can ride together. That's great for me, it means more time in the saddle.

Sweet! My wife actually dozed off for a short bit on a ride last week. A little scary to find out after the fact. I had no idea she was that sleepy. Now occasionally I'll take my left hand and grab her knee to make sure I'm not riding solo all of a sudden. We decided that if she needs me to pull over at the next exit or whatever, she'll tap on my shoulder, stop immediately, grab both shoulders.

Can she see over your head on that seat?

I took my wife for a first ride in 25 years about a month ago. Last time it was on the 850 and she was 8 1/2 months pregnant. She wanted to shake the baby loose.
This time I was so used to riding alone I actually forgot she was back there. We went into a 90 degree corner and she about s**t when the center stand drug on the ground. She would have had that baby on the spot years ago.

You're more bold than I am for sure, AMK. We get these sudden flash floods where it rains an inch and a half in thirty minutes, and all of the intersections get full of debris. I take corners pretty cautiously. I've wiped out twice like that, don't want to again! A little paranoid now I suppose.

I think the added weight put me lower to the ground, it took me a little by surprise too.

jsandidge, you may have just found your ticket for another bike!

I bought my wife a Suzuki Savage back in the day. She dropped it twice and decided she would rather ride with me so that she could enjoy the scenery and not have to pay so much attention.
