A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yamaha r/r on a gs1000c

Forum Mentor
Hi ,
I bought a 2002 Yamaha road warrior R/R off ebay.
This is the same part number as the R1 R/R.
I already know that the grey plug is for the stator wires and the black plug is the output.
From the pics i've seen here the + is toward the center and - on the outside pin.
My question is, what is the center pin in the black plug for?
Here is a link of the R/R.

I'm waiting on a stock unit from Salty monk (thanks) to keep the bike alive
until i receive the Yamaha part.

Marc

Hi,

What is the part number for that unit?

The other units I've seen similar to that one have 5 wires, a group of 2 and a group of 3. In the group of 2, the outside is ground (-) and the inside connector is the hot output (+). The other group of 3, all three get connected to the stator wires.

BUT, we need to know the part number so that we can ensure the correct pinouts. Do the Yamaha parts use a sense wire? The Yamaha part number for that unit is 5JW-81960-00-00.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

hi Mr Basscliff,
I checked a yamaha parts fiche site before buying this r-r.
this r-r also fit 2002-2003 r1, and i remember reading somewhere here that a 2002 r1 r-r would fit.

Its only after paying that i realised that the black plugs had 3 pins.

I was originally looking for part number 1D7-81960-00-00, but after seeing the price of this one and i purchased parts from this seller before.

Thank you,
Marc
