A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello. I'm a WERA/AMA roadracer and been itching to build a cool vintage street bike. I'm looking at rescuing a GS1000 basket case and rebuilding from scratch.

I've spent a bit of time searching through old posts on front end and swingarm swaps. Lots of great info here, for sure.

I don't want to go with a USD front end, as I want to keep the classic look. Seems like the '03/04 CBR 600RR had the largest diameter conventional forks in 45mm, but not sure on fork length. I know the ZRX front end would be the common choice.

Has anyone used the aforementioned front ends on a GS?

With regards to the swingarm, I'm also looking to stay conventional with twin shocks. I know the GS1100 is a clean swap. Has anyone used a Kawasaki Zephyr swingarm?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

I looked at one off a Zephyr but it didn't measure up to well and would have needed a bit of work. I couldn't see any advantage over the GSX1100 swinger so didn't go there.

Most use the GSXR1100 Front end. 41mm & bearings are a straight fit. You need to fab steerer stop & ignition/gauge attachment.

My 750 corners very well with one. Put some cartridge emulators in it etc, should be a pretty good bet....

If you go this way & want some CNC brackets to fit the GSXR 6 pot brakes from about 2004 let me know as I have a spare set.
