    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello GSR-
Rather than resurrect a six years dead thread I started in ?09, with all the pics broken. Like this,
https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?151037-Simple-old-school-new-school-call-it-pre-skool&highlight=

I figured I would start from where I am now. My son was 8 when I started this particular project, I thought it would be a couple simple changes and updates.
He started college last month.
I have been amassing stuff, ostensibly for this, the whole time and it has been changed to the point that little is left of the ?82 I started with. I wasn?t sure GSR would be interested in something so far removed from its origins. Looking around, it seems like there?s quite a few here.
I am still in no great hurry, as I spent the last few months fixing up my ?83 which I ride most everyday. It is almost done, for now, so I can give this ?82 its annual attention.

Just perused your original thread... Man time flies... it was started and went dormant before I was even a member here.
Thanks for taking the time to share it over here. I love when old builds come back to life.

Thanks again, Dorkburger.
Yeah, I thought I would have it off the road a month or three. Even thought of breaking it for parts once or twice. I don’t think I will ever get rid of it, as long I have a covered place to park it.
Now that my son is grown and off to college, I suddenly have much more time, again. Kinda like my 20’s. Now, I have more resources and access to knowledge, though.

Funny how that goes. I hope to give my ES a proper do over someday, but the thing that holds me back is fear of a lingering project. It's my only bike, and money is tight so it's been maintain and ride since 99. It's frame is bent from either the PO (purchased with known crash damage) or from when I crashed it in the early 2000s. I have a spare frame, but it has rust issues. I'm planning to take the plunge and attempt a repair. It's of little use / value now so I may as well make an attempt and learn a thing or two.

Glad you've revived a thread for this project. Deluted genitics and all....
