A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Glenn and Trevor's Excellant Adventure

Did at least one of you get the "snowbird special"?? It almost looks like you're wearing a neck warmer there Trevor...can't be though, it's got to be warm enough down there.

No we didn't get the snowbird special, I saw it but went with the pork instead. Awesome food and very pretty waitresses too.
I just wore the scarf for flair.:p

Our GPS log for the day contains the usual top speed error.;) I think it's those Russians up in the International Space Station messing up the satellites!

That Hwy 95 from Blanding to Hanksville is the most fun road I've been on yet! We rode about 110 miles without encountering another vehicle on our side of the road. I don't know what was more spectacular, the technicality of the road or the scenery! A lot for a poor deprived Island boy to take in! Add to that the comfort in knowing there won't be any red and blue lights to contend with and it was motorcycle nirvana! I'll be back!

A little food for thought as you tear across the desert.....Have the two of you thought of how unbelievably cool in every sense of the term it would have been doing that trip on the gs1100 and 1000s? Picture it.....Two old school bikes flashing across the vast desert toward a distant horizon..........Just bustin a bit. :D Clearly you've chosen very good tools for the job, and I'm glad the trip is going well. Thanks for the incredible pictures.
Stay safe and enjoy.....some more:)

I know you're just ribbing them but Glenn and Trevor both have two fine vintage bikes that get regular use and used at rallies of some distance. Dead heading long distances to get to the area you want to be in, a little comfort goes a long way.....:D

Understood:). heck, the miles they divide up between cycles per year far exceeds what I do on my lone cycle in a year....The choice of ride definitely flavors the trip differently. I definitely couldnt do that trip on my 1150 in that timeframe.

Yup.... They're the only two I know who have Carpal Tunnel in their a$$....

I think Trevor was trying to avoid more of this....

Although fun was had by all, it does cut into the riding time :D

Yes, it is a Garmin Nuvi 2595. I can't really recommend it for motorcycle use, it shuts down on occasion. It is a pita resetting it while riding. The Zumo range of Garmins are built for motorcycles and are more shock resistant, plus they're weatherproof.

I think the word for today's ride would be 'wind'! Real strong winds today made riding quite a chore at times. Thankfully we were in a lot of Nevada desert, that raised the pace of the ride considerably. (That fact is reflected in the max speed of today's GPS log.) We've had enough of the thin air of high elevations, so we're shooting for the California coast tomorrow. Hmm, time for some seafood maybe!

Your moving along pretty good. Nice to follow along with your ride.

Hey guys. I don't know what your schedule is. But if you don't want to get wet don't come back til Sunday or later....

We made it to the coast, ft Bragg Tuesday around 330 Tuesday. Pic from our motel.

We park where ever the fvck we want!:)

Got some good bends north of you, been 22 years since I've been able to enjoy that stretch of tarmac.

What tires did you settle on? Are you happy with them?

Yes, amazing roads! I went with the new Michelin pilot road 4s. Love them.
