I've amped up my donations the last couple of years. I enjoy GSR and the GSR family of friends.
The asinine trump tariffs may accelerate Suzuki ending support.1982 GS1100G- road bike

Well, this is Frank's website. And he doesn't make a penny off it. It seems clear that he loves to support us maniacs posting here daily, but he doesn't have a whole lot of motivation to expand the scope and keep this forum active into perpetuity. And I don't blame him.Ed

just a suggestion, but publishing a downloadable archive is definitely something to consider. At least that way, if it "retires", the knowledge and information shared will not be lost. You could even run a fancy machine=learning (aka AI) algorithm on the archive that will conveniently find answers for you. Although I am not familiar with vbulletin enough to know if they make that (being archives) possible, a lot of closed-source tech stuff don't want to make it easy for you to leave them!1982 gs750t

Thought this would be apropos to the discussion. Just this morning, one of the mods at triumphrat.net posted this message.
Notice and Warning for everyone
"Note - You will be seeing a new "member," ForaFrank.
It is AI. Yeah, I thought the same thing when we got the word...
The VS people are testing an experimental run with the use of AI to answer people's questions. They think it's a good idea for more interaction.
This has nothing to do with any of the Moderators, and we have no control or actions involved in the tests.
I do not know if there is just one or many. I do not know where it will go, and what it will evolve into.
This is the site owners' and the behind-the-scenes administration's deal.
Just want the community to be aware."
There are, understandably, some concern/grumblings in the posts that follow. I'll keep an eye on it.

The GSResources facebook page has AI doing a summary now. This is what the one that I saw looked like:
This Week in GS Resources: Upgrades, Fixes & A Tribute to Adam!- Front End Fix Ups! A community member asked about common front end swaps for older GS models due to undersized tires and tubes. Suggestions poured in: progressive springs upgrade, fork brace installation, heavier fork oil, and even a fork cartridge replacement – all easier and cheaper than a full swap!
- Brake Master Cylinder Swap Another member sought advice on replacing a damaged front brake master cylinder on their 1980 GS1100E. Options included interchangeable ones from GSXR 1000, EX650, EX500, and even Triumph Speed Triples – with some requiring minor tweaks!
- Rotor Removal Tips A user asked for help removing a rotor on their 81 GS650G without Suzuki's slide hammer. Community advice included using gear pullers, Motion Pro rotor puller, and even patience – as one member's rotor popped off overnight after applying heat and pressure!
- Shim Removal Secret Someone needed help removing a stubborn shim (#4) on their GS1000G. Tips included using compressed air to break oil friction and a magnet – simple yet effective solutions!
- Celebrating Adam Reinke We took a moment to honor Adam Reinke (AOD), a beloved contributor who passed away too soon – may he ride on smooth roads forever.
Personally, I don't like it! Seems to be way to much of a generalization of answers for my liking. Just my .02!Ron

Small update FloraFrank over at triumphrat. I've read his? first few responses to some various questions on that forum. The response he? put out, to me, reads eerily human-like.
"Hey #######3, fitting Barkbusters and then getting those mirrors just right can be a bit fiddly! You're wondering about that super tight bottom bolt – before you put too much force on it, did you happen to notice if there were any markings on it or the mount that might indicate thread direction? Sharing a bit more about what you've tried or observed with that bottom bolt could help someone here advise on it!"Links
