Four years since last update.... Okay here goes, I didn't manage to muster up any motivation until last year, and spent the spring and summer getting it done only to find out that due to the clutch release mechanism being where it is on the 750/850 engines you can't space out the front sprocket without lots of work.... so being 90% complete it ground to a halt again and was left in hibernation until I managed to find a gsx1100 engine this spring which only needed some new valve seals according to the parts breaker.... Yeah right... But to make a long story short it got a refresh and was finally installed this summer and got it's first test ride last week! Finally after 7 years of being off the road it's rideable again!
There's still some minor things to button up cosmetically but the important thing is its goes!
And for those of you on instagram you can follow me there as well at TNS_garage

Looks really great. The front looks low. Any clearance / cornering issues?sigpic

That was my number 1 concern and to be honest I've only ridden it properly one trip on regular roads but didn't bottom out actually. I'm sure if I take it up in the mountains I could probably make it scrape on some of the damaged roads we have.
So to be on the safe side I'm planning on replacing the exhaust with a 4-2-2-1 or a Marving 4-1 that has the flat collector.
Thanks! Seems right to show it considering all the help I've gotten from all you people on here over the years!Comment

Nothing like an update and thread revival every couple of years right?
Sorry guys, life seems to be throwing me some curveballs. But lets continue this. So after the last pictures, the bike was picked out to be on stand with the Norwegian Caferacers and Customs group at the Oslo Motorshow. So all of a sudden I had to get it finished but as I started to polish the paint it became clear the paint had cracked. So with only a couple of days before leaving I had to repaint it, but all I had was some leftover Nissan aztec red, much brighter than what it was. This also prompted a change in plans when it came to the seat cover, which was changed to a cognac colour. Hectic three days but I made it. Click thumbnail for bigger images.

Now it doesn't end there though, earlier this year I finally got it professionally painted. And I thougt the color was similar but it turns out it wasn't at all. So now it seems I'm due for a seat color change as well. Stay tuned for new pictures of its current status.

So this is how it looks right now, it ended up perhaps more like the way it used to be. But this has alot of metallic in it. You can really see it in this video: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CrOsJ..._web_copy_link
Was also invited for this years MC Messen (big motorcycle mass, messe? idk)

Missing the stripes as they didn't arrive in time but I have those now ready to put on, and I'm thinking black suede upper with the sides in black faux leather for the seat. Only question is; pleats, or diamonds...hmm...Comment

Yes, seems like very nice work, newer eng. on older frame is pretty eye-catching... I'm watching & waiting for someone to find a way build one where the whole bike is shorter, not just the top of the frame and the seat. Above my head, but somebody will surely figure out a way.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw.
