A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What is that, 1980 850G, somewhere around there? I thought maybe an L but does it have a tail cowl? and a not-chrome front fender?

They said were "headed back to Grand Rapids" (so 30-50 miles from me).
Leading axle fork, teardrop tank, step seat: Is an L (with flatter bars installed).
I think they said was an 81.

GS550L Watkins Glen, NY

Owner was working in the gas station it was parked at. He was as interesting as his bike.

Saw this nice looking (1979?) GS 550E here at UNM today. Had to stop and check it out. No owner in sight though.

Saw this shiny one at a dealership in Le Noirmont, Switzerland, a few weeks ago. Looks like an 81 or 82 model to me, but I wouldn't know for sure.

Not sure why but in all my years of riding around the Portland/Vancouver area I have only seen 2 GS Suzuki?s. One was an 83 identical to mine at the Oaks park OVMC meet about 8years ago,the other was a stock appearing 77 or 78 750 that just happened to be riding the same direction. At least in these two cities you would think there would be more than a few around.

They're around.

I used to think the same thing about Albuquerque. Where'd they all go? Once I took a closer look, over the past few years ive seen several.

I actually saw one yesterday in town. Only a quick glimpse, but it looked like a late 70s 550 or 750. Ratty, flat black, no rear fender, but surprisingly it had a decent looking uncut stock exhaust.

saw the gs450matic that i posted on the for sale section today, talked to dude and told him about the valve adjustment, he didnt know what it was but he said the owner told him he did it recently, told him search this website up for help, didnt seem half bad just rough cosmetically, engine may have been louder than exhaust it was stock.

meant i saw the bike today, posted it a little while ago on here

Saw an 82 1100e in maroon earlier today. Unfortunately I couldn't get a picture or an opportunity to chat with its owner. Nice to see one in the wild.

My buddy that owns the Suzuki dealership that I just ordered the GTA from today has some great old bikes too....Doug cane to my Wes Cooley party 4 years ago and brought along the tank to have Wes sign it.

Wow, that look so cool. He surely have massive collection.

Caught a glimpse of what looked like a yellow GS (not sure which model but tail looked early 80's) in my hometown of Ipswich MA yesterday--member's bike by any chance?

In the first five minutes of 1978's "Game of Death" with B. Lee & K. Abdul-Jabbar. I think it's a nice example of a Yamaha two stroke twin. Am I right?
