A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

A true legend has gone RIP Hulk Hogan

I couldn't help reflecting that he, a man with a lifetime of physical health and musculature, popped his clogs of a heart attack, while I of the same age and nowhere near as fit as he was, didn't.

it's called steroid abuse (VERY taxing on the heart)

guy was a dirtbag,no doubt
it's all out there for anyone to research

MTG LOL! classic

Didn't mention it earlier, but will now. My wife's aunt lived next door to Hogan in FL. Wife met him "one" time and was kind'f impressed with how nice and polite he seemed. Aunt rarely mentioned it but said just a normal friendly neighbor, nothing great nor neg. just bigger than the others.

Steroids? In wrestling?!? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.

When I was about 6, I watched Bruno Samartino on television. He hadn't shown up for a match, and his opponent called him a coward.

All of a sudden, Bruno shows up, straight from the airport supposedly, in a suit and tie. He jumps into the ring, and bashes his opponent on the back with a metal folding chair.

I looked over at my father, who gave me a wink. Ever since then, I knew professional wrestling was entertainment, not a sporting competition. Which made me smarter than a good many adults.

Memories of my Great Grandmother, she'd get her chair right up at the B/W TV and punch the TV screen, at the bad guys, trying to help the good guys... I's very young but saw what was going on.

I keep hearing about this vortex place and figured I attempt to get access to it , but no luck so far.

It must be a very private club, that only allows long time members ?

Thought I messaged all the right people to get in.

So now wondering if it really provides anything worthwhile that the campground, campfire section does ?

Message don. He can grant you access. Be warned, it's a bash fest, where certain members with strong opinions, take great pleasure in attacking anyone that opposes their political views.

I feel that Hogan mattered in many ways. Does it mean he was a great human being? No, but then, that would apply to so many celebrities. Did he do things that were interesting, that changed the world around him? Yeah, he did.

That would be a nice start for a eulogy. :)

Out of the public eye he really did change the world for many. .

Examples:

50 LEGS is a charity he started.
It was created to give prosthetic limbs to children and adults in need of them.
All free.

Make-A-Wish Foundation confirmed he helped make dreams come true for over 200 children.

That's cool.......

Steroids? In wrestling?!?.

a direct spill-over from the Bodybuilding crew

many of that crew keel over from exploding hearts (Rich Piana for example)

btw, (if you know, you know) one of the common affects of steroid use is a distinct 'red hue' to skin color (to do with inctreased blood flow / count)

there's a reason RFK Jr has a red look lol

yep, it's true ... the orange man picked a red man (leaning into steroid use) to head a Health Dept ! (smfh)
ya can't make this chit up

Across North America and in most of the free world we memorialize the dead, and even gather together to remember them for the good that they have done.
It is not a fad, but almost a tradition that we have followed for centuries.

Hulk Hogan was easily the number one professional wrestler in the world, capturing 12 world championships during his career.

Hulk Hogan was involved in a lot of charity work, year after year. and he did this around the world.
.
Along with the two I mentioned previously. he repeatedly participated in fund-raising for many organizations. He co-founded Dreamseekers, an organization specifically formed to help Native American Youth, raised money for diabetes and other diseases and although some said it was not "manly" he deliberately wore pink in public to promote awareness of breast cancer.
He used his celebrity to help others. many, many, others.

And you.think the RIP thread about his life should be deleted?

Perhaps, out of simple respect for the dead, you could abstain from commenting?.

He's referencing how many people voted from Trump in 2024. Actually, it was 77M, but the point is clear.

Waiting on dpep to clean up this thread. He gets tired of this crap, and who could blame him? Some people just can't follow rules.

I find it real interesting that a lot of these "non-motorcycle related" posts are started, and mostly commented on, by the same few people who never seem to grasp what a "motorcycle forum" is all about.

"Some" of them hardly ever post anything motorcycle related. Seems they just want to start internet arguments. Maybe they just can't find a chat group that will accept them!:p

Thank goodness for the "ignore" feature!

argon, thinking the thread was fine here till 4 or 5 posts in when it seemed to take an abrupt turn.

You now have access to Vortex. I do not know who you attempted to contact or how but I only became aware of your wish in this thread.

I am having trouble with my internet connection. Apparently a new cable will have to be run to my house. My access is likely to be intermittent until then,

I have edited this thread to bring it in line with the norms we have for Campfire posts. Note that it still contains lots of less than flattering comments about Hulk Hogan. He has a complex legacy and there is nothing wrong with recognizing all sides of it.

But as always there is a right way and a wrong way to express one's self. There is only a one letter difference between the words class and crass. But that difference is pretty much the core of every non-spam intervention I have to make.
