A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

If I had a pic of my first 850 at my first house with my first wife, that would be perfect. (Un?)Fortunately it was hung on a dart board, perforated, shredded, and burned a long time ago. LOL

Surely can scare up another pic though...

Hahaha only since '96 :sneaky: First bike '96 Honda Rebel 250 I got rid of in '98 in favour of my current '82 GS450, and now have my '84 Katana I finished building in 2019. No bike regrets!

Many regrets aboard a motorcycle--that 'shortcut' I took, that storm I was going to beat, that kickstand I did not get all the way down, etc. But in most of those cases snapping a picture of the bike was not a high priority at the time.

Used a screw extractor to try and get my stuck fuel mixture screw out and the dang thing broke off in there!! Much headaches from there trying to save this carb body, but eventually got it.

Of my regrets in life, very few are related to my activities with mo'cykles. ANd of those, don't really have photos.

But of unfortunite occurance that involve mo'cykl,
I do have this photo (from 2019 BC) :

gA74cRg.jpg

I do not regret stopping in the road to watch vultures (buzzards?) fight over some road kill that was laying in road.
I stopped, sat on bike, for several minutes (maybe half mile back from here).

But I do regrete apparently not putting the sidestand back up before getting going down the road 40-50mph. Then all sorts of strange stuff started happening, and bike was headed off the road. And I feel a violent jerk and see pavement comming up to my face real quick -and- boom - out go the lights.
ANd then I was laying in the road (I dont know how long, dont know if vultures noticed.).

Can see some of the sidestand road scratch in the above picture.

THis pic (from after picked up bike) can see more of the road scratch (not the entry)

Other discussion: Yes, I do think, as a photo contest, the photo should support the theme without explanation. (Most photo contest do not allow any explanation.)
But here on TheGSR, I concider this to be mostly/partly a photo contest, and partly a sociable sharing opportunity. I do enjoy the stories, but try to vote based on the interest of the photo itself and how well the photo reminds me of the theme/topic. If I were to describe the photo, whould I actaully say the theme/topic.

Regrets? I've got a few....
One of which is this beautiful bike.
Love at first sight, but like my second wife, it was over eight months later.
The day when I waved it goodbye and good riddance, was a wonderful day.
