A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yes I have the same thoughts , I will petcock and carbs a thorough examination
kind'f hate to ask, but I keep looking at Redman's picture this week. I know it got to be simple but I can't see what I'm supposed to be seeing. I've looked at it upside down, sideways, backwards...Possibly 4 carb bowl drain plugs, but stick too far down for that. That piece of plank, or wood I'm looking across, my bikes have nothing like that, that I can think of. I know, if or when I find out, it is really simple but beginning to think maybe an optical seclusion of some kind. Any help appreciated... Then I'll be kicking myself for not seeing it. Oh yeah, congrats on the win.

I had to look hard too, the first time I saw it. See if this zoomed in version helps. We’re looking at a sea gull-infested beach at sunset. We’re looking at the scenery through the gap between the carbs’ 4 drain screw plugs above and the starter motor cover below. All of it together and the overall tone of the picture make it very abstract and hard to decipher until you zoom in. The weird shape at the bottom is the ribbed gator/ boot over the clutch cable end leading to the top of the clevis pin on the clutch arm linkage.

My wife thinks she sent you an email this morning for the pic of week thing, The END of the road. It would be from either deloresphillips34@gmail.com or dcp240sx@hotmail.com. Wondering if it went through?
    Rich82GS750TZ
    Rich82GS750TZ
got it and posted it. Did you get any of my PM's? Visitor messages are kind of goofy, and the disappear and I can't find them later. PMs seem to stick around.
Hey Rich, If offer still stands, My wife took a picture of one of my bikes and the changing seasons, picture of week theme. Then she said she didn't know how to send to an e-mail. She said if she had a phone # she could send it. Whatever you think is all good.

Pics sent via text (phone) usually don't fare too well on the receiving end, but let's try it. If it's crappy, Maybe I can get your wife on the phone and explain to her how to email it - If it's an iphone. Try texting it first and I'll let you know how she did.

Dang, just saw the response, I's waiting for something to tell me I had one, but had to look it up. Wife sending 2 either is fine, maybe one will work out. Hate to say it but wife kind'f like me has a hard time understanding this kind of stuff. Thanks, we'll see what happens.
Hi Rich, you are mentioned in a thread about installing Sonic springs on an 1100E with race tech emulators - which I'm doing. The quote is "10W oil, with the level set at 120mm as per Rich Desmond's instructions".

The Sonic instructions are not clear, mention 20mm from the top of the tube with the stanchion compressed. It seems too much! Is your measurement from top too, just 100mm less?

Tom, I think someone is mistaken. Wrong Rich? I know next to nothing about springs, emulators, nor 1100Es. Rich Desmond RichDesmond https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/member/26397-richdesmond
is the former owner or Sonic Springs. He’s a legit genius and a heck a nice guy. I’m sure he’ll help you out.
I had occasion to enjoy some conversations with him recently at the BC rally, then the following week, he passed through my area and stopped in for beers where my son tends bar.
Hey Rich, not that it matters, did this past weeks winning picture win pic of week once before?
    Rich82GS750TZ
    Rich82GS750TZ
I honestly don’t recall. I try not to post the same image twice in the game (but I did note that I did just that this week) , but specially if it won the week. It’s possible. With repeated themes, I very well could have, but I do make a conscious effort to not repeat. Would have to go back through if you want.
Picture really looks "ODD" on my computer. front of bike and front wheel seem sitting pretty well straight up, rear of bike leaning a little, and rear wheel leaning a lot. I realized the one armed swing arm, but something still looks way off, on my computer. Thinking that's your boy's Chinese bike?

Like I wrote. It's an effect of the camera lens being set at a wide angle. Its a photography thing. Trust me. I went to school for it. Was a pro photog for a while. While most of my photography these days is done with a phone, the photographic effects are the same. Want to test this? Take a picture of a group of people with a wide angle lens. Want to see a fat person really hate the event photographer? Put the fat person on the extreme left of right of the frame.
I will have a go at it. Wish me luck

Let me know if you run into trouble. I have gotten on the phone with guys before to help them do this. Once you do it a few times it’s not so bad. It’s much easier to do on a PC, laptop, or tablet than a phone.
    Hello again and thanks.
Do you know if there are any advantages to Imgur over Flickr or vice versa?
    Rich82GS750TZ
    Rich82GS750TZ
Personally, I use Imgur. I've played with Flickr enough to know how to get the BBCode of the image and make a couple of videos on how to do it. Both are free (for now?) I don't think one has an advantage over the other. Flickr may offer more picture sizes. If you watch the videos I have posted at the link in my signature, I go through the process for Flickr. If I had It to do over again, I might choose Flickr, don't know why. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
Thanks for the offer to downsize and post some pics of my former 1100. You'll be getting an email from me, GS1100@bikerider.com, soon.
Stay safe and have a great day.

Home yet? I got here a little around 1. Taking care of wife now.

Yeah. I sent a note in messengers. But I’m guessing from your lack of responses on it that you can’t see multi message Justin set up for me you him and Ken in Messenger (Facebook).

Thanks for a great weekend. I posted my pic in the game right after yours.

Rich would you happen to have this file? ***GS1000G (80-81) Wiring Diagram (Color)*** from Bikecliffs website?
The link is dead. Any help would be great. Thanks
    Rich82GS750TZ
    Rich82GS750TZ
Sorry, apparently one of the links that didn’t make the transition when bwringer copied as much as he could from BikeCliffs original site. One of the other diagrams should get you close.
    Hey Rich,
Saw your post in the valve shim club area. I would appreciate a copy of the spread sheet if you would be kind enough to send it to me. My email is crumbugdale@gmail.com
    Thanks
    Dale
Hey, Rich - thanks for getting back to me on the shim sheet. I have a gs850 so it may help. My email is jimmayfield.writer@gmail.com. but as i said in the post, there's no major rush. I do have one question that presents itself. two of my valves - Home intake & 3 intake are in spec but on the low side: .05mm. I'm hoping to push everything up to the max - .08 or .09. Do you have a recommendation on those two valves? I'm on the fence about leaving them alone or trying to push them a bit higher. Thanks for your help!
    Hi Rich -

Brian Wringer here -- I'm setting up the rooming list for the Brown County Indiana gathering June 9-12. You posted on the rally thread a while back that you were trying to make plans with Glen.

Let me know where you stand with that and whether you'll need a room -- you can email me at brian@bwringer.com

    Thanks!

Thanks for checking in. Glen had a back out for reasons. And I didn't want to make the trip by myself. Will try again next year.
