If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • I have a '78 GS750 that's had 29mm smoothbores on the bike since the early 1980's. I purchased the bike in 1985 and have not done any work to them whatsoever and the bike always ran great. The middle of last year it started not running right. After checking a few things, plugs, wires, etc. (all good) I figured it's time to rebuild the carbs. I've rebuilt a couple of CV style Mikunis on a two other (newer) Suzukis and a set of Hatichis on an '80 Yamaha 650. I pulled the smoothbores a couple of weeks ago and would like to get started. However, I want to purchase gaskets and o-rings before I start the disassembly. Do you have any of these as well as possibly needing jets, etc. once I get things apart? Thank you, Mike Graziosi
On my overflowing carbs, are you saying I need new needle and seat combinations?
    I can't afford $300 right now, sadly

Any idea of what float needle size the 78 takes? I see JetsRUs has 5 different sizes
Hi - the post is a couple years old, but I'm hoping that you're still selling the oring kits - I have a 1979 GS550L with the VM carbs and would like to purchase a kit for these carbs. Please let me know how I can get them.
    Thanks
Are you still selling an o-ring kits? I've got some GS1000EN carbs I'm going through, VM I believe. If so, can you give me information? Pat
Received the o-rings yesterday, thanks. :encouragement:

Hello there, I own a 1980 GS550E with only 4,400 miles and am in the process of rebuilding my carbs. Unfortunately, my carbs are not original to the bike but I'm told they are correct for my model variant. I understand you offer O-Ring & Jet Kits for sale. If so, please call me at 704-860-0952 to discuss ordering these kits. Thank you!

    Hiya Ed,

I could use an SH775 if you have any inventory. I have one on the running (red) bike and it's doing great. Now the 2nd (blue) is coming along. There are fried wires on one of the stock R/Rs I have, and a spare, so that area is suspect. I don't want to use the stockers. I think my stator is OK, at least Ohm's test checks out. Will see. Let me know what you got and how much, will shoot you a PayPal if you have.
Hey Nessism, I could use the O rings or the VM carbs, the way USPS has been lately paypal might be best for me.
    Thanks Doug
Hi: I need 3 sets of o-rings if you still do that. One set for an 82 1100e, 2 sets for 1977 gs750. I live in Canada, do you have a Western Union near you by chance? I don't do Paypal. Thanks, Sheldon.
    Hi Nessism

Just checking to see if you are still providing Mikuni O-Ring Kits.

I'm interested in ordering a set for my 1980 GS1000G with BS34 carbs.

Also, on the off chance, would you also be able to supply the tiny washers that go against the pilot screw springs? (as per attached)

    Cheers - Syd
    Hi Nessim!
    (Ed, was it?)
I'd love to get 2 sets of o-rings for the carb rack for my '83 GS1100E, can I send you my address and some money?

    Thanks!

I'm new to the forum and new to cycles but I recently bought a1985 GS550l as a hobby. It doesn't idle or run well. I don't know any of the maintenance history like when the carbs were last cleaned or valves checked. Id like to take on the challenge of redoing the carbs as I suspect that it's a fuel issue. I'm having trouble finding exactly what o-rings and other misc parts I should have on hand and I understand that you have some kits put together. Is that correct or can you direct me to a place to purchase a kit or do I need to pick through the diagrams on one of the websites? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Hi Ed,

Darrell from San Diego here. I know that you are a long time supporter of the group and very well respected therein. I have interacted with you several times over the years and ive always found your advise very insightful. With that in mind, i would like to ask your advise...

I am at a cross roads in my life. With that said, i have made the very tough decision to liquidate my bikes and associated parts collection. To be clear, when i say liquidate, i dont mean for money.. i simply mean that i want to donate my collection to a worthy recipient. My collection consists of two 1983 GS1100E's. One in blue which is fully functional and ridable. The other in red has been disassembled down to the frame. The intention 5 years ago was to have the frame powder coated. All the parts are there. Engine is complete and was running at the time of disassembly. Engine has all inlet and exhause sealed and i put oil on top of cylinders to keep them from rusting. Also, i turn the engine over regularly with drive sprocket to keep cylinder walls lubed. Bottom line, i believe the engine to be in good working condition. I have all original, factory parts for the bike. It just needs someone with more time that i have to put her back together. I have a decent hydraulic table, and a bunch of spare parts that i have collected over the years (Fuel tanks, carbs, etc).

Can you advise me on how to liquidate this? I will happily donate the entire lot to someone who is a worthy of this collection. When i say worthy, i mean someone who will truly appreciate the worth of these great biles and has a keen devotion to maintaining them. Another alternative is to part everything out on ebay. I just dont think i have the time to do this. Could offer an opinion on this topic. Your guidance is much appreciated.

    Very Best Regards,

    Darrell Sturdivant
