A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Postings to the For Sale and Wanted sections will be deleted 90 days after the initial posting date if there has been no activity to the thread in the last 7 days. This is done to eliminate dead posts from the forum.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1980 GS1000G Complete - almost road ready - needs carb work

Forum Newbie
I am placing my Florida titled, 1980 Suzuki GS1000 G for sale. The bike has 14,290 original miles, Sergeant seat with chrome Cargo Rack and Passenger back rest, new battery, dual horns, chrome engine guards with highway pegs, new chrome straight handbars (original cruiser bars included) with new black gel grips, new carb filter pods (original chrome air box included), custom paint graphics on fuel tank/side covers/fenders, Vance Hines 4into1 megaphone exhaust that retains the center stand, recent oil/filter change. When I purchased the GS, I removed the carbs for ultrasonic cleaning and overhaul while installing a Six Sigma jet kit - I managed to get it running (though horribly) and verified the transmission shifts as it should, but it's going to need someone with more patience to get the carbs running right. Selling for $1250 - located in West Palm Beach, Fl - delivery may be possible for expenses.

I am hoping to sell to a fellow GS aficionado (I wouldn't mind trading it for an '83 GS750E - my first motorcycle) and it has not been listed anywhere else yet. Please contact me direct at 561-666-889 six. Thank you for your interest and Ride Safe everyone!

BTW, I have more photos available but can't post them due to size, even after compressing them - I suppose I could just text them.

Good luck with the sale... But it sure looks waaaay more like a GS1000 "GL" than a GS1000 "G". Totally different bikes. About the only similarity between the "G" and "GL" is the eng.

It looks like a GL that someone has taken away a bit of the "L" What's Half an L is it an "i" :p The carbs will likely need jetting properly around the pods but did you change all the O rings and clean properly, splitting the rack etc? I thought the SixSigma kits were basically set up from the box if you use their recommended like Dynojet or failing that... service the airbox to make sure it's airtight & put it back on. Zero advantage to pods on that bike..... (Yep I've tried it both ways on a full "G" too) :)
