DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1982 gs1100e

I went to my buddy's work to use a paint booth to paint my exhaust and other black bits. Used VHT high heat header plaint in flat black then used vht high heat ceramic clear coat for a little shine. I won't quit my day job...but good enough...lol

Is there something special about that gold gas cap? I can't quite make it out.

Lol...it's the original black cap but they are brass under that paint. I like the bling...I had done the same thing to my blue 83 :)

That's coming out so nice. Your painter did an excellent job on the body parts. I, too, used the VHT flat black header paint for my exhaust. I noticed, accidentally, that if you let them dry for a few days, then rub them down with a blue paper shop rag, they get a real nice shine to them almost a ceramic-looking finish.

Thanks I’m really happy with the paint. Good to know about the rub down effect! I’ll post some pics of my results on the exhaust. Cheers

Some little things today....added pinstripes to the side covers, ss bolts for the carbs, and emblems added to the covers.....and how my header looks now

What can I say? I guess Kind'f just what I've expected out of you... Looking great.

Trevor, I have a pristine, original, complete, exhaust system for a 82 GS-1100e. I would consider selling it to you. It won't be cheap and the shipping might be expensive. If you think you might be interested in it let me know...

Good work with the spray bomb on headers! Did you use their primer too? (I had trouble with the clear coat lifting the paint so I'll be leery of that again... so what trick did you use?)

No trick. I did two coats of the flat black then let it sit for an hour then went at it with the clear coat. Worked good for me.

Polished up Wolf exhaust can today. Here are some before and after pics
Monday I start putting the bike back together.
I will put the Wolf emblem on once the pipe has been fitted back on the bike
