A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1982 Honda CB900F $1500 Colorado

I wonder if there is a way to see sales numbers for those bikes in Canada vs USA?

I doubt it, things like that corporations tend to keep secret for a while, then (pre computer days) info like that just disappeared after a decade or two.

A silver and blue CB900F has been one of the few bikes left that I would really like to own (along with a silver monoshock GPZ750). The problem is that they are few and far between, and when I find one close by worth buying, it's $3k.

That first one I posted was only $1800 obo. Maybe get it for $1500 and with your exchange rate today that would be $1398.06 not too shaby.:)

That is EXACTLY what I want - an '82, blue/silver, and stock. That is a $3,000ish bike here in the states.

If it were in southern Ontario (meaning a long one day round trip drive), I'd be really tempted to try and get it. I know a guy who imported a CBR1100XX Super Blackbird from Canada. It was kind of a pain, but not terribly expensive (only cost a couple hundred bucks in fees, if I remember correctly). That would make this still an under $2,000 bike.

Grrrrrrrr.........

You're just a couple of weeks too late to ride it back. Winter has arrived and it's ****ing down rain.

Remember that the Canucks can only ride a third of the year so the bikes don't get a lot of miles.

Lol...the longest I have gone without riding one of my bikes in the last two years is two weeks. And only because I was on my honeymoon. You guys think it is so cold here but Canada has places where you can ride all year. Like bc. I put on over 20000kms (12000miles) a year. I have already done 13000kms on my 1100 since may. We might live in Canada but we ride. We are a hearty bunch!

Front me the money, and I'll deliver it to you in the spring, Griffin!

It would be garage stored through what we refer to as "winter" around here.

I appreciate the offer, I really do. In fact, someone else has already made pretty much the same offer. But, with six GSes in the garage right now (GS1100E, GS1000E, GS1000G, GS700ES, GS650E, and GS450E), I need another bike like I need another hole in my head.

That's why I'm begging Trevor to stop. I'm getting more tempted by the minute.

I'd suggest dropping one of the litre bikes out of the stable, but you must have both chain and shaft drive represented ;)

Perhaps a solution would be to trade one of the GSes for the CB?

Yeah, it's important to have a different bike for every occasion.

Funny thing is, other than the 700ES (which I bought new back in the day), and the 1000G (got a two GS1000Gs for one deal with it for $1,700 total), I didn't pay more than $500 for any of the other bikes. Spending $1,600 for only one bike is kind of foreign concept to me, so there is that psychological thing to deal with as well.

That doesn't mean they don't have a lot more than $500 into each one of them, though.

Still, that CB900F looks like there isn't much to do to it other than change the oil and gas it up.

Grrrr.........

I just emailed him to find out the mileage and contact info. Looks good in the photo but I've seen that before.
