A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Nice bike to build from. They are a good all around machine and the engines will take alot of abuse for a plain bearing crank. My 700 has been flogged hard and still runs like new.

So that's your bike.Nice starting point. They are really nice bikes to ride when they are sorted out.Have fun with it and good luck.

Once some of my parts arrive (thanks SVSooke), I will get started. I also just ordered the "O" rings and stainless bolt kit from http://www.cycleorings.com/intake.html

Once these arrive I will finish cleaning the carbs and hopefully get it fired up and see if it actually runs! In the meantime, I need to change the oil and get some new sparkplugs. I might need a new battery. The PO gave me a fairly new one he had, but it overflowed while in the bike so it might be toast.

I found this bike on my local Kijijii in Kingston. I really like the colour and may paint mine red, although I may go metallic candy apple.

Good Bikes I love my Frankenbike, my USD forks are being rebuilt right now, hope to have pics next wk of back rolling.
Keep on it, can't wait to see it finished

Nice project, I see you're a Bills fan, I'm from Buffalo...I feel your pain lol.

Have you considered ceramic coating the exhaust after sand blasting? I've heard good things about it.

Nice bike!

I also picked up a '83 750 a few weeks ago and will be working on it through the winter... I'll be following your build!

I haven't started my rebuild yet, too much other stuff to do, not enough time - yet! I want it done by spring so I better get started soon.

Update on my project:

I needed a lot of parts so I bought a parts bike:

It's another 1983 GS750E with only 5400 kms on it

Brand new tires

My original white one will now become the parts bike for this one!!!

So now I have a stock pipe and a supertrapp, not sure which will go on but more the likely the Supertrapp will. I have all the parts that are missing from the burgandy one already on the white one. I think once I am done, I will part out what's left. I also have title for both.

I've been ranting and raving like a lunatic about the 83 to 86 GS 750 models for a very long time. To me at least, they are a perfectly rounded bike. Handle very well in the twisties, aren't overly heavy, feel nimble at crawling speeds, have nice power, and are quite comfortable for day rides. Love that power rush from 4,500 rpm up to the 10,000 rpm redline. I still giggle like a kid in a candy store when I ride one.
I like them so much I have two of them.......here are the Twins.....

Well you got a convert on the Island.Good on you Pat,looks like a slightly better staring point.Probaly know which way I go on the exhaust;)

I'll probably put the Supertrapp on her and keep the stock pipes as a spare.
