A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Cool nice to meet you jfman. I am narrowing a gs1100 alum swing arm the rims is a 5.50 I was just stated to go back and start looking at offset sprockets and gearing. when i get the swing in there i will see where i am at. where are you getting yours from? offset sprocket

I had these parts for a 78 kz1000 but I am new to all this and got this lil gs250 and thought what the hell since i am going with later model stuff on my KZ. I Just dig this lil thing fell in love with GS's

The sprockets are available on ebay and some vendors sell them too.

To get the chaine closer to the center of the bike. You may want to consider machining the hub down a few mm's just so it clears the tire. Tha will help you get the chain to line up better with the output shaft sprocket.

On my build I am planning on doing just this but I have more room to play with because I am using a 4.5 inch rear wheel. and a 150 rear tire.

Ok, well my '81 GS400S barn find is in poor shape, got her running and all but she needs alot of work. I should start taking pics and posting them in the project catagory but for now, I'm showing of it's little brother, my '81 GN400, one lunger.

Kick start only, batteryless, absolute minimalist.

New to me. 81 GS450t. 14k miles. picked 'er up for $500. MY FIRST BIKE!! :) runs good. came with a windshield and luggage rack that Ive since taken off. tires have minor dry rot cracks starting to show up, small oil leak and rear shocks are squishy. PO put that humungous crash bar on there. I am looking for the small ones that just cover the case that ive seen on a lot of bikes here. any suggestions? anyways, i love seeing all these bikes! some great work.
