A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Thanks Floegstad! In my humble opinion, the GR650 is the best Suzuki twin of the era......unless you have an engine problem. The majority of parts can be swapped with those from other bikes, but the engine is very unique, so I collect and take care of the engines I do have.

Charlie, I'm about an hour and a half from West Deer in Ellwood City. I'm guessing you have family or friends in western PA?

My Grandfather's family. I sure enjoyed visiting as a kid. No harm in asking?

I have been searching the interweb since i looked at your bikes for a GR,but i cant find any. are they US-models or do they exist worldwide?
Will look further into it,but your wide knowledge in these bikes i dropped the question at ya.
Happy new year
Cheers Jorgen

Just found out that the Norwegian import of Suzuki imported 525 bikes between 83-87,and they are very hard to find, but if i could they wouldn`t be to expensive.
Thinking about ditching my future twostroke project for a Gr if i can get one!!

Here's mine.
I'm claiming a World first for having the first Historic Registered GS500
She's an '89 GS500E -25 years old, registered in Victoria OZ on Jan 2nd

Looks nice Jools! The fast blue model. Cool.

Thanks mate, they're a pretty bike eh? Not so pretty when I got it though... Been 'down the road' a few times, bent valves, gorilla PO's, unmasked rattle can black paint, porous tank, shagged linkage, u/s reg/rec ... I could go on, it's a long list!
Runs very nicely now, (but I've got a clanking sound at low revs which I'll be checking out).
I'm new to the forum and looking forward to contributing etc.

Thanks Charlie! This forum has been amazing, I bought the bike as a non-runner and it is only thanks to everyone here that it is back on the road.

Rusty, I felt the fork brace inspired more confidence in the bike after it was installed. The new front tire was just a few mm too tall for the front fender, and once it was off, I was paranoid about not having a brace. It could have all been psychological, but to me it feels more solid and tracks better with the brace.

still finishing up build - gotta eliminate tack, controls, slim down bars some and a few other odds and ends.

May be bad to say here but I just can't bring myself to finish painting it and putting the body work back on. I just love the way it looks right now.
