A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • In order to help others find info on a particular bike, be sure to put the year, make or model of bike that you are asking a question about, in the Topic Title. This will allow people to pass by posts they have no interest in.

74 Titan 500

Isn't the headlight that's in the fairing now the original one from the bike just moved across?

thats what i was thinkin... but the fairing has its own headlight. it is really a nice fairing. but ewww.

the original headlight is lost in the past somewhen.

i found a couple on the ebay that should fit.

A GS L-series headlight + rim will fit your T500 headlight bucket.
This gives you the option of switching to an H4 halogen headlight.

That's what I have on my T500. I'm using a 45/45W H4 bulb.

my gixxerpunk kid took the t500 for a spin today with his gf. it is really a fun little bike.

next step is to try to get it legal. the title is from indiana and is not from the guy i actually bought it from.

the t500 is on the road. legally registered in NY state. it definitely helps to know someone at the dmv office.

i think it reminds me of my first bike, a 72 kz400, or maybe that is just an acid flashback.

by the way, this is what a gixxer1k looks like after hitting a deer at god knows how what speed:

poor kid, lucky to be alive but this is his 4th bike/deer crash. yeah, i got the midnight call, again.....

Your kid makes the T500 look small and 500's were big bikes back in the early 70's. Some folks used them to tour. 7

72 kz400 . . . let me blow away the 2 cycle smoke :p

so i just got a text from the above mentioned gixxerpunk, deerhunter and bikeless kid..... he wants to borrow the titan tonight.

i am conflicted. first of all, with his luck he will find another damn deer with it.

and second-----

it is mine, mine, mine .......

It seems like he might need some work on braking and as the Titan doesn't have any { had one back in the day } I would be reluctant too......;)

i've decided to sell this bike. it's old and pretty much completely stock and in nice shape and if i keep it i'll just beat the crap out of it. so i'm trying to see if there is actually any interest out there. i have seen them go for more than $2500 in similar condition on ebay. i'm not quite that greedy but if it's worth that.... well, that'd be great.

here's a link to my craigslist ad:

The stock headlight on the old T models had a straight bottom and weren't completely round. Nothing wrong with the double leading shoe brakes when they're adjusted right. I could make the front tire howl on my old 305 when I hammered the brakes. Same brakes as on the 500.

Has it sold yet?

Make sure to put " 2 stroke" in your ad, that will get additional attention from craigslist nuts....er....I mean collectors. ;)

The original headlight is pathetically dim.
If you upgraded to a brighter headlight, then you can say, "stock except for upgraded headlight".

"Runs great. ? This bike spent a lot of time stored. Last registered in the 80's and the odometer shows 4000 miles."
Can be interpreted as it starts ok & revs good but will need crank seals.
If you've put any miles on it this year, then its worth mentioning.

So you're the one posting all those ads!
