A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Anybody need a Water Buffalo project?

Steve

GS Whisperer
I was asked by one of the ladies at work last week if I might know anyone that would be interested in an older bike that she had sitting in the garage. I asked her what she had, her instant reply was "it's a '74 Water Buffalo".

Seems that it was her mother's bike. Mom is gone now, so the bike sits at her daughter's house. Her husband has removed a couple of pieces with the intent of working on the bike, but nothing has happened, so she would like to pass it on to someone that might be interested.

I have no interest in it, but can help with some of the logistics in getting it to you. No money figures were discussed. I have no idea what it might be worth, so I gave her no promises or guesses as to value, so the process can start with an offer on your part, I'll see if she approves.

Since pictures are mandatory, here they are. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Yeah, I kinda got that impression while talking to her (the daughter).

I did not get a picture of the box of parts that have been removed, but I was assured that everything was there.

Water Buffalo = coolest nickname ever (for a motorcycle)

Nice bike....but am I seeing it right with the tach redline at 7k?...or is it just dirt on the glass?

Cool, bike. Horrendous seat.
It all depends on how much time you spend on the bike at one time. :-k

My eyes are not in my butt, so I don't care how it looks when I am riding.
What I DO care about when riding is comfort. That is why most of the bikes in my stable have similar seats. :encouragement:

And, for anyone that sees those seats on my bikes, I figure they fall into two categories:
1. Wow, what an ugly seat.
2. Wow, that guy must do a LOT of riding.

Those who recognize the comfort of the seat will accept it and appreciate it for what it is.

By the way, there are MANY things on my GS that most members here would simply shake their head at, but there is the underlying theme of "do what you want, it's YOUR bike". I have applied that to ME.

It wasn't a complimentary nickname when it was first coined.

Well, if they were comparing her to an H-2, then that wasn't fair...the Suzi was more sedate {which ain't a bad thing, having owned a few- 3 stock and one not}

Need?... no. Would I LOVE to have it? Yes....
Someday. .... which is something I'm tiring of waiting for.

Good luck with the sale. Steve, you're a good egg..

Ah man I just spent my stash on a tire machine and balancer last weekend. I'd love to build one of those. I have a few dollars I can dig up that is suppose to go to the upholstery for the 55 Belair. I'm sure I can make it back before it's finished. Let me know, my shipper will be up in the area taking Kerry's 650GL to him in WV. Not sure when he'll be heading back down here though. Yeah, get me some more info and I'll see if a Water Buffalo is in my near future.

Well, if Rick doesn't grab it up, then I'd need someone to come up with a figure {not to sound condescending}...I actually found somebody who might be interested in it, but he says "I need to know what they want for it"...{friend Pauls quote - who currently rides a '75 Gt750}.

I'm with dorkburger, The water buffalo "animal" is like the water buffalo "bike", Many may want one, but I can't imagine anyone could need one.

Dude, 2 strokes don't have a redline…:tongue-new: LOL!!!

Well, there's a "usable" RPM range...after that it's just noise and no power....the HP and Torque ratings don't just keep going up, yah know...

...I spose it ...also depends on how big a cam you have...................................................................
