A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

That's the site I looked up a few years ago for pics of my TOTD rides. I wonder how long they archive them? Those photographers popping out at the turns can be distracting or entice one into pushing it beyond reasonable limits.
I did my best to just ignore them and keep my eye through the turn...

You need to come to the Pacific Northwest. Real mountains and roads........
That was my biggest solo ride I've done, I usually have company. Now that I broke that barrier I'm thinking west coast ride next year... Need to get into a little better shape and look at my calendar for I'll need to take at least 2 weeks off to complete that journey.

Got a lovely hundred miles in this evening with my bride.
We saw all kinds of deer. Does, fawns, bucks. A goat farm. Horses, cows, even some with medium horns.
Saw a kitten startle and arch defensively when a turkey vulture got too close.
Saw Amish folks that waved at us.
Caught up with two couples on Harleys who were enjoying the 50-mph road at about 35. It was twisty enough that there was no opportunity to pass for a few miles. I was a little perturbed but I got over it. I'm sure they were having fun, just like I was. (not a helmet among the four of them... :/)
God, I love riding.

No pics to provide, but yesterday I decided to go for a "little" ride. 2 hours and 91 miles later I pulled into the garage. Great weather!

I went out for a ride last Sunday. I was in the Akron Ohio aria and decided to see if there was any race action going on at Derby Downs. Every time I go there I learn something new. I was able to see up close how they align the wheels. Also they exchange wheels between competitors between rounds. Did you know there's more girls than boys that race, ages from 8 to 21. About 60%girls to 40% boys I'd say. It really is a family sport.☺

Note: this photo shows them already across the finish line. They are out of there "tucked" position.

I went for a ride on Monday and used the video cam to record my trip through some twisty lanes etc.

It was a perfect day for it except that when I got home I forgot to take the camera out and instead left it switched on to record hours of footage of my garage door, thereby overwriting my nice cruise.

Seems like I'm having one of those weeks.

I took the new (to me) DL1000 out last night after work for the first time since picking it up last weekend. It's going to take some getting used to for sure. It certainly has more get up and go than the 850G, GS 1100L I owned previously, and the 1100E that I considered buying last month. Granted neither of those 1100's were tuned to their max potential though.

I've got some work to do on this Vee before going on any long trips. Being a 2002, there's an issue with the clutch that is got me reading up on something called "chudder".

I'm going to get to know this bike very well in no time but hey, at least I waited till the after our second date to get intimate.

Went to the Steel City Mods vs Rockers today. Actually had more Suzuki two strokes than four strokes.

The 2 Suzuki four strokes.

And the 4 Suzuki two strokes we brought. The blue GT250 cafe has salty_monk?s two-piston brake upgrade.

The event spaned 4 blocks in the small Pittsburgh town of Millvale. Two pics of the event:
