DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Great photograph...

And technical impressive, with the 1.3 second exposure at ISO 1600.
Do you ever pack a tripod?

Thanks Bob. I had a tough time last night. Most of the pictures I took there ended up getting deleted due to blur from camera shake. I think one side of the camera was resting on the ground in this shot. I did use the mini tripod on some other pictures taken here. The bike is on a loading dock so the low shots were pretty easy to get.
I?m probably going to revisit this spot. There were a couple shots that I really liked the composition of, but were blurred.
I was a bit rushed which didn?t help, and I may need to start carrying my eyeglasses - the newest addition to my aging man gear....

Man Glen, you do have a way with that camera, don't you? I looked at some of your "non-motorcycle" shots on Flickr, and they're all great. I especially liked the one of the pooch laying on the floor!

There is Glen (dorkburger), riding at night, is raining, what to do? Stop somewhere with a street light so can get picture of water beaded up on bike.

Im-Press-Ive.

say, Glen, where you going for that reflection shimmer on the disc??

The reflection was happenstance. The whole stop was a bit frazzled and rushed.
As far as the rain goes.... the only time it rained here over the three day weekend was... ten minutes after I got on the bike until shortly after I got home. It was warm though and only a light rain. It probably had something to do with my giving my bike it?s yearly scrub earlier in the week.

Headed north on the 5, just to get some more highway experience.
Buzzed along about 80mph in moderate heavy traffic for about 30 miles to get past Pendalton. Got off to explore around, only coastal area I found was big houses with walls or parks with $15 day passes.

headed back south. Stopped at a scenic view spot (kinda like a rest stop but no services) on the 5 within pendalton.
could see big hover crafts, and helicopters, and lots of big trucks with big equipment on the beach. Lots of guys sitting on hoods and roofs of the trucks. I guess that is part of the hurry up and wait.

BMW'S are nice... you don't have to wave at anyone! Haha. Not true, sport tourer guys always wave to each other. Isn't it funny that there are so many different "clicks" of motorcyclists? Don't wave at that guy, he's riding a Vespa, or he's on a Metric Cruiser... How about if a motorcyclist pulls up next to you at a red light, do you wave at him? That would be weird... (I wish Andy Rooney was a motorcyclist... 🙂

Hmm...I find BMW riders to be the ones that consistently wave..

i find it to be 50-50 with bmw riders even when I am here on the RT.
maybe it is because the 2002 is not new enough (or not an older air head) or maybe it is because it is obvious that my gear is old common stuff (not $4000 worth). Har har

Kerrfunk started a thread a while back titled "the wave". I wonder if it's been purged.

Red lights can be awkward, but usually folks are friendly. No brand or style can determine a person's attitude toward others. Off the bike, I'll bet the non waving snobs are just as disinterested in showing a little love to others. Jus sayin.

... so after going north on the 5 and then comming back south,

Went on back into Oceanside to cruise by the beach there.

Was a crowded mess down there.
but found this little dead end street.

then I tried going across town without gps, and got lost...
found my way and got back to right side of town...
then saw daughter (and wife and baby) in traffic.

Managed to catch up to them, and wave to baby in back seat.

Wife annoyed that I was splitting traffic lanes.
Baby was surprized, startled actually.
daughter took this picture from driver seats (traffic lights around here are about 3 minutes).

now back to helping with prepacking and baby sitting.
me, daughter and baby.

Rode my new (to me-2016 model) Sportster out to Florence and back last night, then took the scenic route home from her place this morning. I really like this bike.20190530_090015_Film2.jpg

I really like that one too!!!
Glad your enjoying it!

It's such a sweet little motor. In time, I'll install a Hammer 1275 kit, but I really enjoy the way it rumbles down the road. Gonna change the air filter to a Ness one, and plug it into a FuelPak, but aside from that for now, it'll just be suspension and brake upgrades plus various aesthetic bits.

Congrats on the first ride, must feel awesome.
Solo mission it appears.
Will the 450 be gathering dust in the near future?

Yes indeed, still grinning even this morning, looking forward to the first ride with the Kat guys today :D

Solo mission indeed for that one, everyone else was still at work...

The 450 will still be doing the commute duties to work and back every day, I don't want to do that on the Kat although I'll likely ride it in every now and then. Some of the guys at work will be keen for a look see too.

As a side note, I can't stop riding this bike. I ride it everywhere. It hits all the right notes and has brought real moto-joy to me.

Just a quick trip to the store for some kitchen sink supply lines and a new dimming light switch.
