A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

This was done this winter...well sorta done...never done done. Glad you like it...i love this bike. It has given me the opportunity to get back in the shop and get my hands dirty. So you must be referencing another bike but now I want to see it if you can find a thread for it.

No pictures, but my wife and I rode 60 miles today, some lovely roads we'd never been on before, and the hometown of Chuck Yeager. Right on.

Went out for a ride to Tanto National forest. Didn't do the whole Apache trail loop as I am still working out some issues but the bike performed flawlessly.

Man, I'm sweating just thinking about riding out there. Nice looking 750! Did you drop a mirror on a dirt road? I had a maddening ride where mine kept coming loose, thought for sure I'd lose it. Every ten seconds I had to grab and hand tighten it till I could stop and grab a wrench.

LOL .. No when I bought it the right mirror was cracked and I was worried about throwing broken glass at my face. I usually ride with a helmet but .. honestly not always so broken pieces of glass was not an appealing thought. I have new mirrors supposed to arrive tomorrow. I am still working at making this as reliable as my old self can handle. There is an absolutely gorgeous run here that involves some 16 miles of hard pack gravel and dirt. It is a ride I wish I could share with the world its so awesome but .. it can shake stuff loose!

Soon as I think this bike is reliable enough .. I am taking that ride!! I have done it about 8 times on 3 other motorcycles. Unfortunately .. Tow trucks wont pick you up out there so if you fail .. you are in trouble! Think 100+ degrees, snakes, coyotes and javelina. Of the three the javalina scare me most. A few cars and other bikes make the run so you should be able to find a ride .. you hope! :)

But your bike will sit there until you figure out a way to get it.

Back on the road, after the steering bearing and fork seal project.
Left the lowers off for now so easier to adjust the spot lights and need to replace tach cable.,

And back to my "vane" pictures.

Looking great!
How many miles do you have on it now?

Man, did I do some riding this weekend, 525 miles total. Went up for the Aspen Cash Rally Saturday with my group and back Sunday with a friend of mine who bought a new BMW. DSCN0643.jpg

Only a 50 mile ride today but took a few hours when it's mostly on dirt roads. The 850G stripped of extras and with the Shinko 705 rear makes for a decent back country bike.
