A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Went on a little trip for the past week with my buddy on our '77 GS550 and GS750s. Boston -> Pittsburgh -> Philadelphia -> NYC -> friends wedding -> Boston. Put another 1,500 miles on my GS750 without a hitch but did blow out my fork seals.

We just pulled off of I-84 since there was a little tent indicating a campground on my US atlas (love this thing). It was at High Point State Park and I wish we could have had more time to ride around the area and explore. What we did see of the surrounding roads was really great.
I actually already have the fork seals since I had ordered non-OEM a year ago and one of them started leaking a little towards the end of my cross country trip. Just need some new fork oil now.
This would be the first real break down in the +16K miles I've racked on this bike in the past 4 months, better even than the Kawasaki Concours and any of my GS bikes (The only bike that didn't give me grief was the Yamaha FZ1 after that many miles, hell even my Bandit broke a chain 15K miles into ownership)...
Even the big block GS needed some reinforcement on the clutch baskets and primaries as well so a little weld job on the internals didn't scare me in the slightest... A quick mend and she trucked me back home for another 500 miles with no grief, commuted into work today and I'm no way concerned, it's running like a top.
The HDs didn't get close to those miles and I had them for 12 months...
I ride mine too....that's not the point. I just expect more from a new bike...that's all. No offence to JedzReally Trevor? Bikes break no matter how new/old/pretty/ugly/manufacturer/model they are. At least he is riding his and enjoying the time more so than that Harley he willingly got rid of
He's a big, corn fed, redneck MF'er from Vermont... he could break a football
That's how I felt all the time living in ChicagoLand. Had to ride for HOURS just to get near something mildly interesting. Nothing good for a short ride or a day trip. Gotta make a weekend out of it but you still spend more time on the slab than in the twisties. Three or four day trips were the only way to have any real fun.I got a ride in today. 273 miles which was 212 miles of slab and 61 miles of mildly sweeping curves posted at 40 mph mostly. This is why I don't ride much anymore. It just plain sucks to live in this flatland called the heartland of america.
Ahhh...the sand-bagging begins early. I like to get a bunch of excuses for my poor riding lined up well ahead of time. This year I'm using: The suspensions not dialed in, I'm tired, my foot hurts, my gear all shrank and now it's too tight, it's too cold, it's too hot, etc. I have more just in caseFortunately, only two weeks left until I get to some good riding roads in the Ozarks. I'll do my best to try to keep up with all you better riders.
Can't wait!!! See you thenSee you in Farmington.
