A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

No pics but today I rode my gsxs1000 to get ceramic coated,,,the whole bike. Pick it up in a couple days...looking forward to seeing the results.

The whole bike? I'd like to see that too!

While they can do the seat too, I'm not getting that done. It's quite the process. The bike will be cleaned (It's my bike so that's already done lol) and then they will polish and remove any scratches..and "clay bar" it. I may get it done to all my bikes.

The seat? I'm sure that I'm not the only person here who recalls pulling the ultimate nOoB move and applying Armour-All to my first bike's seat... and footrest rubbers... and grips... and tires...

:stupid:

Lol...I did that too on my first bike....

Mr Sheen (ironically, it had nothing to do with Barry) spray polish on the vinyl seat.
Ouch.
The seat that has never been touched with vinyl or any other cleaner / polish is still holding up ok. It was re-covered nearly 30 years ago, and still uncracked. Another seat re-covered at the the same time (and was cleaned / polished occasionally) fell to bits a few years ago.

Armor All on the seat? It was a standard prank to coat a unsuspecting buddies seat with it for a while in our group.

My friend Paul has Armorall running through his vains. He uses Armorall on everything! This is him detailing the motorcycles for the Canfield fair bike show.🌞

Nice bike trevor. It's really fascinating to see how motorcycles of yore evolved into the lean mean machines they are now.

I wonder whether the new gen will hold up as well as our 40 year old bikes.

Thanks. I think they will hold up well...at least this one will....if you take care of them. :)

Less cleaning - More riding !

My bikes are not the most attractive thing in the parking lot -
But they often have the most miles on them ;)

(Winter is hard upon me :( - -10 for the last week )

-6 for the high temperature here today. Tomorrow morning is predicted to be -22..?...

Did I ever tell you I hate winter?

edit:. hopefully next week my Triumph will be in the back of my truck heading out to Mesa, Az.

After a miserably cold week in USAF survival school in early 1983, 'sleeping' out for a week in -30 temps, my friends and I dropped a pal off in Offutt on the way to NYC. It was well below zero there. The rest of us were headed to Athens. He wasn't impressed with our immature and cruel taunts like "hey if you get to Athens, look us up, we'll be at the beach".

I went for a nice ride up the Ortega highway on the Mr. Turbo today. A beautiful day at about 75 and sunny, and no better thing to be doing than goosing a turbo up the canyons. It gets blindingly fast above 7K, I have never had anything like it. I have taken it easy on the first few rides, and now am getting a bit wristy with it. It's an occasional rider, and I really hope to get the 1000E set up for more sane riding. Since it has the same bones as the 1000E the handling is solid. I didn't take any pics but at the Lookout roadhouse there were a lot of folks taking pics.

Most all of February has been well below freezing, and a few significant snow falls.

But 40degF today.
Rare, for February, sunny clear blue sky
Snow has been melting a little bit each day of the last 3 days.
Roads are dry.
So, hey, can get out for a February ride.

Departing driveway

Head out, on roads that somewhat follow the river,
Stopped for pic

Cross river, and come back on other side of river
Stopp along side of road, just to see what can see.

Into town and check out the beach/pier area. Looks like fairly heavy clouds on horizon, so probably not the sunset that would like for a sunny day.

40 mile ride. Which is twice my January ride.
