If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Shoulda sold the FJR to me when you had the chance at Brown County -
I think my last offer was $200 AND a PLANE ticket home ;)

Good Luck and ride safe - it was great meeting you guys

LOL, as tempting as that was I'm still glad to have it. we'll have it back on the road soon.

In the mean time, the GS is getting plenty of love.

Had a real nice ride last night. One of the only times I've ridden this stretch of I-40 without being blown around by crazy cross winds. I was surprised by how cool it got. Around Gallup I had to put another layer on.

Maybe headed to the meteor crater or painted desert today.

Had a real nice day and a half getaway. The meteor crater was something I've always wanted to see. This thing was really cookin' when it came down.

Didn't make it to the Painted Desert, but saw plenty of beautifully colored landscape.

191 South from Sanders, AZ to 61 then NM 53 was such a beautiful ride. Super colorful desert giving way to greenery and tall pines around the Continental divide.

The air was unusually clear now in Western New Mexico, considering how smoky it's been lately. After enjoying some of the most beautifully sculpted sandstone landscapes in the setting suns's light, in what I now know is called alpenglow, I had to come to terms with and overcome the heartache caused by not being able to catch that in a photo. Here's a great writup of a few things to see around there.

This is just one area of New Mexico I find positively captivating. The Ice caves and Bandero Volcano with the lava flows in the Malpais National Monument are just a tiny sampling of New Mexico's enchantment.

Clouds show the quickly fading alpenglow.

Riding home straight into the rising full moon was like having dessert after this delicious feast of a ride.

Your photos and your descriptions are appetizing.

The Ugly is back!! The problem was air box rubbers related. Fixed with new ferncos. Total cost about 15 bucks.

I took it out for a test ride and it ran just like it used to. Got up to highway speed (80 - 85) for a couple miles. Felt just like it did when I rode it down to S. Illinois to see the eclipse a couple years ago.

I am going to have to spring for some progressives up front (total pun intended) cuz that fairing wore the originals down to nubs.

Here's a fernco:

Here's what they look like installed:

Nice road pics.

Good posting. Enjoyed it.

Had a situation here such that I had not been home much nor riding for a few days.

But did get out for a short ride about noon time yesterday.

View from parking lot of place, in town near the beach, that I stopped for lunch. (Cowboy Scott may recognize).
Butchie Beach Burrito.

Excuse for poorly framed pic: I was in a hurry, was a couple cars pulling in that could clutter the view, and I wanted to get in line before those occupants (they take a long time to order if not familiar with the menus items).

Nice road trip pics, Trevor.
A nice dilemma....tear around on great empty roads or slow up and take in the scenery.

Thanks Steve, I tried to do a little of both.
With not being able to cross the border to ride, it sure has given me the opportunity to explore my own backyard more. We are very lucky here in BC. :)

Have you ever heard of THC Gummies? :)

Sure have. The red ones are my favorite 😍

I was just thinking if Keith Moon swam with such an ATTGAT mentality, as you do, he would've saved on his dental bills.

Looks like you had a fun time.

My buddy Gary and I go way back. He?s 9 years older than me. His dad had a welding, fabrication business that was right beside my dad and uncle?s painting and sandblasting business. My dad even painted a couple of Gary?s cars in the 70s
Gary raced AMA sidecars in the late 70s early 80s... he was the monkey of course... raced the same tracks and weekends as the greats Wes Cooley, Freddie, Eddie and Kenny.
Anyway he raced RD 350s as well and I bought a rear tire off him that was ?race worn? for my 1982 550 Katana ( I was broke as a joke)... I was 16 and we?ve been friends ever since. :)

Anti social motorcyclist goes to a bike night... Some people on a local FB motorcycle group I’m on were going to the bike night at the local motorcycle dealer, so I figured I’d check it out. It was.... weird, but not in a bad way. I had a nice conversation with a gentleman who is a long term owner of a well used 1979 Yamaha, and a few others. They had open dyno runs, stunters on groms, food, etc. More confirmations of my aging. I found the “kids” in the parking lot bouncing their open piped engines off the rev limiters to be annoying and obnoxious.... and loud.
Overall it was a decent night, and I didn’t even feel bad for not riding during the two hours I was there.

No pictures worth posting.

Wow...that is not how our local bike nights are run, that's for sure. Don't blame you, I wouldn't have liked it either.

I did generally enjoy it, but typically I have always had a short attention span at local car / bike shows. Meeting some people from the FB group was cool and may result in my actually getting out and being social. As much as I?ve enjoyed my many solitary rides over the last 25 years, I think that I?ve also missed out on the camaraderie of motorcycling.

Glen, you should try to come to the Brown County GSR rally sometime. That place oozes motorcycle camaraderie! 👍
