A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

A neighbor friend needed to get a few of his bikes some exercise yesterday. I gladly helped him out.

1989 Ninja ZX10 was first. Only a short ride, maybe a couple of miles. A bit smaller and lighter than my FJR. Man this engine can rev!

Next was his 2009 Versys 650. Very comfortable upright riding position. Fun zip around town bike. I didn't like trying to find the shift lever with my foot and how much effort it took to get into gear. Guess I'm just spoiled with the smoooooth shifting GS.

Next was a Vulcan 900

This was my favorite of the three, save the straight pipes. That noise was rather embarassing around the neighborhood. Again, spoiled by the GS's quiet pipes. Comfortable position, but impossible to lift my butt off the seat for big bumps. Smooth running bike. I rode a bit longer on ths one.

The one I really wanted to ride was his KZ900 (can just see the tail end sticking out in one of these pics)

After getting to ride these I let him ride my GS850. Man, that thing runs great, he said, Very smooth.

First ride of the year today!

I had forgotten how heavy this bike is, and it is absolutely useless getting out of my frozen driveway. But it started fairly easily, and ran well! Better than last year. I rode down to the city, turned around and topped her up with gas.

It was cold, I almost fell on some ice going out my neighbouerhood. 4.5 degrees celcius. I should have worn more clothes.

But I am so happy everything worked, had no problem starting up or riding. Its cured.

My brother had the ZX - 10r’s slightly older brother - an 87 Ninja 1000. I got a bit of a sideways look when after my first ride on it that I informed him that it has a rev limiter...

He eventually totaled it and nearly himself when he experienced a severe tank slapped on it at speed.

I got out yesterday for 156 miles of Nebraska's NFRs (No Fun Roads). I try to do this at least once a month to prevent the strain on my battery tender.

Also turned over the 25,000 mile mark on the odometer (Triumph Tiger)

20220412_194348.jpg After working on the motorcycle for most of the day, putting on the new wheels. I was finally able to get out for a ride.
I kind of goofed up when buying my tires. I wanted the Michelin Road 5's. I ordered the Sport 5's, more of a race type tire. They may wear out sooner, but boy are they fun! I feel like I'm Eddie Lawson when hitting the curves! :)
