If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Driving home tonight I was passed by a guy riding an Aprilia while wearing Uggs. I've never seen that before.
I'm surprised when people wear Uggs out in public at all, let alone while riding a motorcycle.

Not hating Uggs. I own some myself, but would never even contemplate riding while wearing them.

Was out there splitting a few logs last week, nothing serious just a few swings so I didn't gear up in my chopping boots and for the first and only time ever I dropped a 7lb wedge on my toe.

My daughters wore them (actually, Ugg knockoffs) when they were the hot ticket a couple years ago.

The way they are constructed (no ankle support, thin suede leather), one would probably be better off wearing quality high top Nike or Adidas leather basketball shoes than Uggs for riding purposes.

Please pardon my ignorance, but I had to look them up.
When I saw the home page of their website, I thought "of course not".

Then I saw what might be in question:

And then I thought "how much different are they than what you see so much of the time?"

No, they are probably not "proper" motorcycle attire, but then all the ATGATT guys don't approve of what I choose to wear, so who am I to criticize? :-k

.

better than flip flops

Ah, beat me to it.

Was going to say that in the last country I worked it seemed universally accepted that the flip flop, known and shib shib, was THE approved motorcycle foot ware.

I wear tennis shoes 90% of the time, haven't lost a toe............yet. :)

Some people respect me for my ATGATT, others think it's overkill. I did wear slip on hiking/running shoes at one time, decided there wasn't enough protection there.

I think just about all the bases have been covered here. To me they're just a ghastly fashion choice no matter the occasion.

thing with even tightly laced shoes is they easily come off in an accident
I lost a ahem sneaker in an accident once
foot a nice and happy
foot b very very sad

Was that country Indiana? Well, only for women on the back of a Harley.

These loafers are what my dad wears riding his Goldwing. His girlfriend was giving him hell, saying the younger generation (me) could teach the older generation a thing or two. I wear my lace up work boots or motorcycle boots. ATGATT

I wouldn't wear those for riding. As close as I come to that are some hiking boots sometimes.

've never seen a man wearing. My daughter has gone through 4 pairs at 10. They're really crappy, but she got 2 of them from a Thai student that was at our house. The price was right on those 2.

Not really. The "leather" Uggs are made of has the strength of a vynl car seat and because they have no laces or buckles,. are likely to get ripped on the feet in the first moment of contact with the ground.

Back in the days before no shirt no shoes no service...I let my feet go commando sometimes. Amazing I lived through all those drunken irresponsible years.

I was actually able to kick start my Norton barefoot back then. California had no helmet law and I'd ride with shorts, no shirt,no shoes, no helmet. Clearly, no brains, either.

Though I have as much experience with motorcrossing as I have with knowing what its like to go to the moon I am however a very seasoned pro on the track and on the street with sport bikes?.. I tell you this because who better a person to evaluate what is a greater street boot than a stunter ,street and track racer that spends everyday out doing 80 mph wheelies, stoppies and blowing past everything else on hwy at 150 mph? I have laid down many a bike lol and let me tell you if you want the greatest safety functioning a boot can give then you want to get a full fledged motorcross racing boot and use it for your street riding: These boots are created from end to end for all things that would love to break, shred, etc your legs from knee down whereas the lame ass conventional strret boots are but simply a fashion statement that offer minimal if any real protection for your below knee extremities. Sure there are those that will say they can be hard to shift with, etc but the simple solve is to just ajust your shifter and then what will the fashion conscious squids say? Oh did I mention that motorcross boots are very kick ass looking and in same frame are very good for kicking some ass of some troglodyte that decides to test you all because his girl cant keep her eyes off you and your bike lol.
