    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Well after years of gentle pestering MCycle-nut finally gave in and let me buy his 1983 Suzuki GS1100ES. Super stoked to finally get one. And his has been lovingly taken care of, beautiful condition.

The bikes in perfect condition. Progressive springs up front, Falicon clutch basket from Schnitz Racing and a list of all the maintenance done in the past 10 years. Always nice buying a bike from a fellow enthusiast. She'll be well loved.

An absolute "Classic" shot! Art and I would call it a "GS Reacue shot, although I've seen that bike and it dosen't need any rescuing! Happy for you.
 
I felt like it was one of those 'start the carrrr.....start the carrrr....' moments ;)
 
Great score Rob ! Looks like a beauty....But I'm a little disappointed.... I wanted to see a shot of you loading it into the Camry........

Ya know, Sometimes I really wish we had a like button. I almost spit my coffee all over my desk. Too funny...

Don't laugh. He put a GS 1000 in one once. Now that I think about it. That picture would be a great entry in this week's " Your bike in an unusual place " photo challenge.......
 
ha,ha..I don't think Kevin would have sold it to me if I showed up with a Camry... I'll have to find a picture of that.

I remember seeing that picture a while back. I've done some drastic "redneck" stunts like that to get something home. Gotta do what ya gotta do...
 
I once stuffed an old 305 Yamaha into the back of my 73 Vega. Closest I've come to such lunacy.

GENTLE pestering? Holy crap man, when you first saw it at the bike show you were telling people to keep away from it because it was YOUR bike! :biggrin:

I saw it in 2014 at the show in Victoria and would have pestered you to, if you weren't so far away.

Historical Note

Your new bike, the 1983 GS1100es, was the first bike (according to Cycle World magazine) to break the 11 second quarter mile mark. It did 10.99 @ 120.8 mph.

Just thought I'd let you know, even though it doesn't look like you can smile any wider.

Now we need details - tires, oil cooler, front air suspension, etc.

You KNOW I'm in the market for a local 1100ES in the stock paint scheme when you get tired of it, right?
